I think you'll be impressed with the way the ball moves in this new update. I'm using the traditional ball so it's basic and I can see it rolling and spinning, but also it's looking more realistic. I had a shot with Scholes earlier, hit the right post, bounced realistically, hit the left post and went to the defender who cleared for a throw-in.
one cool thing;
The game has more space, plus the CPU doesn't close you down as quickly resulting in a defence that has a better 'back-line'. It's difficult and will always be difficult to update a games gameplay to make it play MUCH different. I'd wait til FIFA 07 for a overhaul.

the main issue with fifa 06 is that it isn't that difficult to score. a gameplay update may change the way you can score or to some 'extent' the difficulty, but fifa 06 isn't too difficult. So the challenge is finding a balance of how many goals can be scored and how good the CPU is at scoring them, all while making it look realistic (ball physics).
i think i've just gotten closer...many people are enjoying v9, but some are quite obviously finding it easy...you guys play on a pattern and know ways of gettin round the game engine.

NK, Your GPU is nice... BUT .. I installed it the first day and it was great, I nearly left PES aside for it... the next day, I restarted the game and it's like in SLOW-MOTION.. I tried to reinstall the GPU but that didn't fix the problem. What's happening ? The only GPU where I didn't experience this problem was BIGGY's.. what did You edit on FIFA WORLD CUP 06 so that it's in SLOW MOTION ? Please fix that..

Hmmm slow-motion? I may have to go through everything to make sure no settings are in the way, I did try and slow the game down...perhaps too much.

That's not the problem... the first time after installing it worked fine... after reboot it makes this problem.. maybe You've set something in the registry ? Too high resolution optimations?? render=1 ??

u know, somehow i got a feeling that v9 cpu took sometime to kick in to the system cause yes, i 've said i've won couple of my early games after the patch, but now im starting to feel the difficulty of really creatiing a good chance already lol, most of my games have been frustrating draws atm (worldclass - lvl 3)

my updates are more challenging than original gameplay, this makes you have to become a better player. Only now these updates almost train you up as they demand better play from you. The problem is, you become too good too quickly and beat the speed in which the update gain difficulty and balance.
V9 isn't an easy update, you're just ahead of its time. The new update should offer an interesting combination of play in which the defence holds back longer making it harder to get past, in stead of past updates where the CPU players' close down and give up their space, in which you can exploit it with quick passing and movement. Now however, the games are slower and defences are much more tactical as the game turns to the tactical speeds of play rather than how fast the CPU players' close you down when you're in possession of the ball. This makes for lower chances and scoring oportunities. I installed V8 and scored straight away, I thought everyone said the keepers were almost impossible. This is NOT the case. V9 has easier goalkeepers, which can be a cause of the easiness you experience as your play was increased through V8 and since V9 was easier, it showed through dramatically. But as I said there will be no V10, the next update does not build upon V9, but instead takes a different path in the gameplay. One which doesn't base itself on how difficult the game can become...but how realistic.
