First Impressions
Overall the game feels better
General looks and presentation
- Pitch looks niceley textured
- The in game menus are a huge improvement on 2005. You can actually see them even using a high resolution.
- Players faces look well textured e.g. spotty face Rooney, however hair texture is a little flat.
- Substitutions, 100% improved over the last two previous versions, they actually show the players who get substituted.
- Camera feels better than last year not too far away from action
Sound
- Commentary seems pretty good with mr enthusiastic Clive Tyldesley
- Not the best Oasis song to use imo, but I guess it has a good football game feel to it
- Ingame sound (need to listen a bit more), I will say that the atmosphere seems a little stale. Closer attention needed though
Gameplay
- Corners are improved with a clear direction system, have not had any freekicks yet . Not a fan of the throw-ins, can hardly win any of them (need more practive I guess). Goal kicks feel a lott better as well.
[MORE TO COME, as I played the game early this morning]
- Referee seems very responsive to what is going on, almost 100% consistant red cards on tackles from behind
- Hand ball rule seems to be in place
- Advantage rule indicated by small animation in top left of screen
Conclusion so far
The games presentation with regards to ingame menus is a big improvement over the last couple of years. The gameplay feels better from what I have seen so far and overall this game plays better than the last couple of installments.
