Fergusen fights board for Ronaldo

He's leaving :(

Quick summary:

After the final whistle in the game against Germany, Ronaldo states that he can't stay in England and is likely off to Spain. He's going to take the next 2 or 3 days to resolve his life, then all will hopefully be confirmed.

The English tabloids are obsessed with Ronaldo :|

CRISTIANO RONALDO'S World Cup hit rock-bottom thanks to Bastian Schweinsteiger's second-half torpedoes.

The Manchester United man was up to his old tricks again trying to con the referee with two more entries in Stuttgart for dive of the tournament.
...

The chorus of boos, though, that greeted his every touch from start to finish was a dead giveaway for what the neutrals are going to remember Ron for in Germany 2006.

It's a shame that he's being run our of England by the same stupid, obsessive media. Stupid stupid english media. I say we sell him for 40 million pounds and go get Lennon and stock up our central midfield with World Class.

It looks as though he's wanted out long before the WC so blaming the media holds little water in this, in my opinion.

I read that he told his agent months ago that he wanted to leave, and he wanted to leave for us ( I remember reading this when VM first said that CR was one of his targets ). So maybe what your saying is true...but than again it could not be true either.

"I think I should get out of Manchester as the circumstances are not right to keep playing there," said Ronaldo.

"Nobody stood up for me, although I did not do anybody any harm. In two or three days I'll decide where to go."

Does anyone other than me find that really disturbing? He has three years on his contract yet Ronaldo is the one deciding where he's going! Manchester United should be in complete control here. If they don't want to sell then tough luck for Ronaldo, he will have to honour his contract.

Players and their agents have too much power nowadays.

Brilliantly said! I agree 100%. Fergusson has no control over the situation right now since the player has already voiced his opinion...nobody wants someone who doesn't want to stay.

As for the boy, I've never been convinced that he is anything more than crossovers and...................more crossovers. His youth allows him to make runs down the right but he lacks that Beckhamesque cross, which is probably why he has to move.........all.........over.........the...........field. His quick feet allow him to do a lot of tricks but most of the time tricks barely move him UP THE FIELD! The positives are that he will sell jerseys and has an upside...he could be better in the future and that potential is probably what makes him attractive to the bigger clubs.

Anyway, I think you guys are jumping the gun a little talking as if he's already gone. He's been in Germany for over a month and this announcement comes hot on the heels the game tonight. He probably hasn't even been back to Manchester yet.

It's pretty much the equivalent of putting in a very public transfer request. There's a lot of talking to be done before a move actually happens, if it does.

I really, really still don't want him to leave. Even if he is a twat, which he has been recently, he's a brilliant young player who will be amazing in the future.

God, if only he had a shred of mental toughness and resilience, maybe he'd be world class by now. But he's just a wimp, and I'm ashamed to say it. If he had the toughness of Rooney, he'd be damn near unstoppable, but he insists on being a pansy and a wimp. I dont know what he was thinking headbutting Rooney before the England game, and his whining and flailing to the ground has gotten worse after improving that area of this game last season.

Too bad Ribery wants to stay in France, we need more players like him.

Help?

Blamind the media and circumstances by Ronaldo is really classless. He could have just came out and said it straight that he doesn't want to play for Manchester United anymore and wants to be in Madrid.

Now i really wonder how much credibility that story about Ruud and Ronaldo's father has. Afterall it was denied by United i believe. I could be wrong though.

One thing for sure, he made up his mind and decided to take an easy route, we'll see where this will get him in his career, i just hope that this will get us a better replacement.

well if he does want ot got that puts us in a fairly strong position, i mean a player whos has signed till 2010 has got to be worth at least 20-30mil i mean we bought himfor £12.5 and hes worth more and to buy out the remnainder of his contract is gonna take a bit, that or let him rot in the reserves for the next 4 year s and see how good his carreer is then shall we!

Gotta love the English media. The FA had Scolari pretty much signed until the media decided it'd be a good idea to camp outside his house (not that I think England would become the next World Cup winners with Scolari, or even that he's a good coach. But he gets results, and that's what England's lacking. As a footballing nation of that calibre, a 4th place in 1990 is not enough).

Then they go and get on Ronaldo's back, making him want to leave. I don't personally like him (actually, I dislike him. A lot), but there's no way to deny he's a good player, with huge potential. Who is losing more with this? Man U will lose a good player, and I don't think they'll get a good price for him since he told everyone he wants to move, and keeping him unhappy at the squad may make the rest of the team feel uneasy.
