Yeah Virgo, I'm not even close to excited with this news.

But I hope he will shut you and me up, for Porto's sake :p

I find Alan to be a good player too, I won't mind if he comes..
It's just that I'm a bit tired of brazilian guys coming to our squad :crazyboy:

I've just heard that on SportTv too, I've seen him play before and seemed great, and right now he's having a great game, Cruzeiro leading 2-0 before HT, Fred with an assist and a goal.
Not a bad player at all, don't you think so Parasol?

He can easilly come here and be a "Fabiano", but you'll never know until you try

i've never followed Cruzeiro that much but tonight's game from Fred remembered me of Liedson, fast forward always looking to score or to assist his partners with good feet. Can do somethings in Europe for sure.

There is another player that i really liked in tonight's brazilian set of matches, he's from Santos, he's called Ricardo Bóvio, seemed to me a great midfielder, strong and capable of playing under pressure.

Speaking of brazilians, does luis fabiano perform well at porto?

no

he had a very poor season, only scored 3 goals, more to the end he barelly played already...though i'd give him another chance for next season, he has already signed with another club, Seville i think..

4 years with Sokota... great news

It was so predictable, for almost a year now, that's why he played with no determination at all this season... His attitude really made me sick!

Anyway, I think it is a good signing for Porto. Many people will see that next season... Sokota is quite a good forward, with an excellent positioning, protection of the ball, good heading and shooting. He did an awesome 2003/2004 season for us and he only was so bad this year because he knew he wouldn't renew with us and was going to Porto. I'm sure we'll see a totally different Sokota in 2005/2006, unfortunately.

It's official: Porto bought Leo Lim... errr.. Pep... errr... Alan from Marítimo. And Sokota too (can be useful. The B team really needed a good striker). Not to mention Jorginho (good but not great).
Great to see the SAD learned their lesson from last season! (Y) :nape:

EDIT: Agree with Parasol - Bóvio seems to be an interesting player. But I need to see him play a couple times more to make an opinion.
So, I'm guessing everybody watched Atl. Paranaense vs Santos last night too, eh? I didn't see the 2nd half, though. Anyone knows the final result?

3-2 Paranaense... Santos missed a couple of chances against a motivated Paranaense side playing at home with 10 men. 2nd leg will be all Santos.

Santos has very good players, that Bovio guy is just one of them..
I've seen him play before (I watch every brazilian game I can on TV), and he always seemed to have great strength, good positioning, and good feet.
I loved both of last night's games, thrilling stuff!
Just wish I could see Flamengo play more often :jambo:

Anyway, agreeing with INFESTA, every player that came from Maritimo to Porto sucked hard. Leo Lima didn't have many chances, but Bruno and Pepe.. :kader:
Alan will hopefully stop that curse (Y)

Plus, I am more upset with Jorginho coming to play for Porto than Sokota.
That guy doesn't have enough football for us, simple as that.
Não tem força, nem raça, e agarra-se demasiado à bola :f***:
One of the most overrated guys in portuguese football IMO.

But, I hope this one shuts me up too (H)

I dont really know what's going on in PDC's head.

but it really strikes me that you have cash to spend and you're spending it on sh*t players instead of buying proven internationals or at least young talented players.

But hey I'm not complaining, just think you should.

Alan is going to be another bust, let's face it the guy is 26 and he didn't even stood out in Maritimo's team. How the hell will he break in a first team where Quaresma doesn't have a secured spot?

Alan's been good with Maritimo man, what are you saying

The issue here is if he's good enough for a team like Porto or not...again.
That's the prob with these smaller team players, they always come with something to prove at a superior level of competition..and just a few of them succeed at proving their value.

Alan's ok, but not big 3 material.. He doesn't belong at Porto anymore than Sporting or Benfica. I would have been disapointed had he signed with us, seriously.

Manduca and Silas are the best players @ Maritimo and I'm surprised none of the big 3 made an attempt at these two. Silas signed with Belenenses though, I beleive..

I'm a fan of Manduca since his Gil Vicente days. (Y) I'm fortunate to have seen him play live 2 times already, and in all of them he was easily the MoM. Still, not sure if he'd do well in any of the big 3, since his characteristics fit more a counter-attacking team. I'd rather take him than Alan, though.

yeah that's true, he's still not as one-dimensional as a player like Fangueiro who's totally useless unless he's on a quick counter-attack

Hum..still won't be low enough to convince PdC, I believe.

Porto were willing to give 5 million for the guy, but I've heard maybe we could go up to about 7, after knowing 15 million was the price tag put by AZ on the player.
And that would be a reasonable offer for a guy like Kromkamp IMO, I just hope everything works out between the clubs...for everyone's sake.

Anyone thought about Carlos Cruz after reading this statement? :fluffy:

Maciel will go back to U. Leiria on loan (should be sold IMO) for next season.

And there is another transfer rumour coming from Brazil:
Renato from Atletico Mineiro, an Under-20 International for his country.
What can I say....at least this one's a kid

Our pre-season hotel and city are already decided:

Golden Tulip Parkhotel, in Doorwerth, Holland.
Adriaanse chose it because he thinks it is a small paradise :)

also Maciel was when you bought him, a good player for Leiria or Marítimo doesn't make him a good player for Porto standards, i think you know that.
