The two best portuguese teams of the season, face to face in the antecipated final of the competion.

FC Porto are favourites, since they play at home and are the leaders of the league, but Sporting comes from 10 wins in a row, and 6 consecutive games without conceeding goals.

My prediction: 0-0 at 120 minutes, Sporting wins on PK's :rockman:

The two best portuguese teams of the season ? That's arguable. If your talking about the cup then yes, Benfica is no longer in that competition. And Porto is 1st on the league, Sporting is 2nd and Benfica is 3rd. But we're still on the champions league (at least until the 2nd leg against Barça), something that, following your line of thought, the best portuguese team of the season, Porto, since they are 1st on the league, failed to accomplish this season. Also, Sporting was by many months eliminated from the UEFA cup.

Just because of that, I hope Sporting gets the deserved trashing. (6)

Porto is playing better than Sporting, but somehow Co Adriaanse f*cks up in big matches, so maybe not.

I'm not gonna discuss the "best 2 teams" subject, I think it's obvious that FCP and SCP are the more consistent teams through out the season, Benfica made 3 good games against Manchester and Liverpool and is extremely irregular in the league, but that's not the point, this thread is for discussion of the cup game.

Hard game for both teams. Sporting has shown great teamplay. Porto has shown the best football in the portuguese league. It will be a great clash. I just hope we accomplish the win. And i don't want penalties plz.

the point is that SCP1906 takes advantage of every little thing to bash Benfica and it's annoying as he knows and that's why he keeps doing it.

He could have chosen to say most consistent and that would be fine and everyone would agree with that, but that wouldn't put Benfica as down as he likes to do.

First of our last 2 chances to win a big game this season. I think we'll take it. Both teams are in good form, but our strikers have been gaigning momentum and that will make the difference from past derbies.

The way Porto is scoring goals at the moment, they should win it. Sporting defence isn't at 100 per cent. Caneira is just getting back into the lineup.

Taking in account everthing they've achieved this season, and taking in account that Benfica, Porto and Sporting all three have had some good and bad spells throughout the SuperLiga, i don't think Porto and Sporting are the best teams of the season... but ok, that's not the point really... :rolleyes:

My bet: Sporting 2 - Porto 1

I'm not that confident in our 3-defenders system, especially when playing top teams, but I'm hopeful we'll outscore the lagartixas this time.
