Yeah, I just didn't want to change things too much. And I like the idea of the big clubs being proper European forces. Also thought that this way the premier league can strengthen above us...I think after a few seasons we should turn them off too (like with us). Zenit, CSKA, Spartak etc are big clubs who already have, or are likely to get billionaire owners (especially if the Russian League starts getting some European success).

Also if we made loads of lower sides get a sugar daddy, we could be sacked loads of times before progressing anywhere. And it could also end up with loads of crappy little clubs getting bigger, but the big cubs just staying the same. Meaning the league could be full of decent, but not brilliant sides.

In ten years I'd love to see Russia having few sides in the knock phases in Europe. Especially if it's those big famous Russian names

We definitely can still add sugar daddy to some (1 or 2 max I think) lower sides. Think we should look at sides in good locations for it if we do though :)

I think sugar daddy at any of the clubs is something to keep an eye on though. If the big clubs become too big too quickly, and just keep on spending stupid money, season after season, than we should possibly turn it off, just leave them as a big club with lots of money (so they aren't allowed to spend it all every year).

Alright, season is over, pretty good showing actually. The team really became unbeatable when it got healthy.

Also, here is my favorite match of the year, and of course the best individual performance.

To make it realistic I'm picturing a hail of bananas raining down on him after the 4th goal. Russia, after all.

And finally, the end of the year awards:

Think it's kind of cool that Mputu and Traore split the Player of the Year Awards, because they were definitely the two best players in the league and their average ratings were really close.

I've grown attached to Tresor Mtupu and he has really thrived in on the right wing, please don't sell him. Aside from him and Lacina, I'm not really going to fight to keep anyone. Mier is good, but probably around the same ability as the Russian kid I brought in during the winter; however he might be useful as a left back, I don't know. The next person will have to spend a LOT of money to get competitive IMO. I'd say only Mtupu and Traore are the only ones good enough to play for a team in Europe. Have fun.

Juve, I guess you're free to jump in. I'm not ready to play this yet. Just keep an eye on how much the big Russian clubs are spending (and performing). And if they're going too well too quickly, we'll turn sugar daddy off.

Me neither, I'd appreciate if managers gave some ideas on how they're playing and who they're playing and how they're doing, doesn't have to be in detail. Just so the next manager has a good idea on what to expect.

Anyway, good job Shifty*i, blasted through that in no time, good work.

Yeah, I was thinking that first season was very short on detail. But it was all over in a day!

I'll download the game today! Don't think I'll play as fast as Shifty*i but I'll try to make detailed posts of the team, tactic and transfers. Looking forward to challenging the Moscow teams and Zenit... although that might be impossible this season, we'll see.

Told the board I'd go for a mid-table finish and I'm trying to make signings to achieve that. Transfer budget close to 60M and a huge wage budget (4.5M per month) to boot. Let me see what I can do.

We moved from 20th to 31st place on the list of richest clubs in the world. We have the budget of Champions League teams... It could go real fast with Luch. When I played with Dukla I added a sugar daddy, but I didn't up their original budget which made it a bit harder. I only got my first results in Europe in the sixth year, which was more fun to be honest.

Signings:

An extra good goalkeeper:

Defenders, a mix of youth and experience:

Midfielders, with the addition of Zenit veteran Zyryanov and the verstale vetaran Nemov (he can pretty much play anywhere):

And in attack the addition of another Zenit vetaran, Victor Faizulin, and the talent from Serbia Ninkovic who'll give Mier a battle for his place in the line-up:

No more than 6 foreigners in the first XI, and at least one Russian U21 player in the match squad. Nothing too bad.

So, technically, we can have as many foreigners as we want, but only 6 can play at any one time? So, a match squad could have 13 foreigners (6 starts and 7 on the bench) and one U21 Russian in the squad, and so long as there are only 6 foreigners on the field at any given time, we're good?

Not suggesting we buy lots of foreigners and sub them on for one another, but the limitations can be toyed with.

You're ****ed if a Russian player gets injured, and they play a really rough brand of soccer over there. I was meaning to attach the amount of bookings in the first division last year because it was insane. Having a guy with a cross over his head in the first 10 minutes was almost expected.

Some decent signings, but also not exactly Lucas Moura or Eden Hazard. This game is going to be about increasing the reputation slowwwwly to attract better and better signings I think. Might not go as fast as some of you think. I also opened up Scout Genie after I finished and the custom database doesn't allow it, so we'll see how many of yall's signings were legit too (H)

Yeah, you're right actually. Luch's reputation doesn't allow for signings like that.

But hey, first game of the season:

Mputu had to come off injured in the 15th min, Kubik to the rescue! Man of the Match performance from him. With 10 men we countered them away on a 1-1 score. Incredible win.

And look at that ambiance...

What doesn't the custom database allow?

Anyway, obviously I don't suggest having 20 foreigners and 5 Russians, but if our squad is big enough, 9-12 foreigners and the rest Russians (3 or so of which should be U21) would be good.

I'm confused. What does this mean? What would make illegit signings? Why did the custom DB not allow Scout Genie?

Can't load the database for whatever reason. You don't think using Genie Scout to look through the PAs of the entire database is cheating?

Yes it would be, I'm gonna have faith that no one does that, it would really take the joy out of the game, especially one in which signing good young players will be crucial.
