Interesting ARTICLE!!!

VdV is a machine. I remember he tore it up with Hamburg. He was Hamburgs key player a couple of seasons ago. He started hamburg's success in the bundesliga a couple of seasons ago too. I even thought of him to be a better player then Diego at the time when both tore it up in the bundesliga.

I'd like to see you guys get van der Vaart, I think he is under-appreciated at Madrid.

A midfield with Robben, Ribery, van der Vaart and Schwein would be pretty menacing.

Only problem is Toni Kroos. I could see Muller replacing Olic as our starting forward because they have a lot of the same strengths, but bringing in VdV would absolutely crush poor Toni.

Raffie is a brilliant player, and someone I have followed very closely for the last 10 years ... but he hasn't gone 1 season without some sort of injury, which has hurt him -- literally and figuratively (in terms of his career) ...

with all due respect, I think that going back to the Bundesliga would be a step back for him ... he famously refused Bayern while at HSV -- because he was supposed to move to Bayern from Ajax, but Bayern pulled the plug feeling that he didn't warrant a €6m price tag; they didn't want him before, and so he didn't want them then ...

I want to see van der Vaart move to Italy, to Roma, because that would be the perfect fit for him at the moment ... I think he would do really well there -- providing he stays fit -- especially with Totti to link up with, and Adriano (and possibly also Toni) to provide for ... and he is very loyal to the fans when they show him love, so he will become a cult hero of sorts ... his name has been linked with them in recent weeks, so I am hoping that there is no smoke without fire ...

I think going with Kroos is the better option for you guys ... he is young, he is talented, and Van Gaal has not been afraid to throw players who fit that description into the deep end ...

So much wrong here. I remember it being Hoeness or Rummenigge who didn't want him, not VdV turning down Bayern, and of course the article quotes Robben as saying the exact opposite of what you claim, and in fact VdV was supposed to go to Bayern instead of Real.

Secondly, it's a step down to go to one of the 7 biggest clubs in the world, but not a step down to go to ******* Roma? Are you kidding me? You seriously must be joking that Bayern is a step down, and Roma is where he belongs.

so much "wrong" here? for a law man, you seem to make a lot of erroneous judgments ...

firstly, Raffie turned down Bayern after the 05/06 season ... I know he did ... you can look it up ... the situation may have changed now, and he may want to bike to Munich for a contract, but that was not the situation then ... I was just expressing my surprise at how things have changed in a few years ...

next, I said the Bundesliga is a step down, not Bayern ... I'd rather see him playing in Italy as opposed to Germany again ... I wouldn't mind him going to Valencia either ... but yeah, I think Roma would be his perfect fit ...

and Paolo, if Roma can afford Adriano, Roma can afford van der Vaart ... plus, he'll definitely see the chance to start every week as a reason to take a pay-cut if necessary ... the guy has always had his priorities straight ...

.........Adriano comes free and Roma pay only the salary, Rafael costs around 16-18 millions and his salary is too high for Roma.......:clapwap:

I think the Bundesliga and Serie A are on the same level now. The match fixing scandals have ruined Italian football.

And it doesn't really matter much anyway. None of us here really get the impression that Bayern will spend money this summer. Our big transfers are basically Kroos, Alaba, Contento, Breno, and the fact that Badstuber and Muller are way ahead of schedule. We might buy an experienced left back (I heard an absolutely ridiculous Ashley Cole rumor that is so fake I laughed for about 10 minutes) because Contento isn't quite there, but other than that we're fine.

Next summer we're going to open the war chest. Neuer and probably a big name striker and a top class center back. One more big season and Bayern could be as attractive a club for foreign players as it's ever been, and that's saying something. For the life of me, I certainly don't remember a time when a Dutch international and Real Madrid player would leak a story through a friend claiming he would cycle through the Alps just to get a contract with us.

watch more calcio, please? listen Cedd, I'm not saying that the Bundesliga isn't heading in the right direction: Germany has done some tremendous things in terms of attendance figures, and the number of impressive stadia purpose-built for football is something to be proud of ... but this model has caught the eye of everyone, and Italian clubs have already mobilized themselves already to adopt similar strategies ... so I think if Italy is slipping in those standards, it is temporary, and it is merely still the aftermath of the corruption scandals ... the league as a whole and the constituent individual clubs have always shown a tremendous ability to recover and rise from adversity in whatever form ...

but the difference in sporting pedigree and history for a larger number of teams is what sets Italy as an elite league, and what sets it above Germany in terms of reputation for the biggest players in the world ... Germany are closing the gap on the elite leagues, but they are not there yet ... even the UEFA coefficient will back me up on this for at least 1 more season; and I hope, for more ...
