Revenue goes up for United every year and that makes sense, but the club doesn't make money. I don't know, maybe Manchester United are different. I know for a fact Arsenal operate on a realistic budget. Most clubs in England (and elsewhere) bring in a lot of money, but when you consider expenses like wages and exorbitant transfer fees, these clubs lose money year after year. And I'm not just talking about Chelsea, I'm talking every club: Spurs, Newcastle, West Ham, Fulham, Everton, All of them. There is no money in professional football for owners. There's tons of money for everyone else, but not for the club owners unless you want to be an even poorer version of Arsenal.
In Germany there are laws against running a club on debt. I doubt it's possible to make a law like this in England (it definitely is not in the US), and the fans would hate it anyway because it would make the quality go down.
