breaking news: Piqué has become Eyal's (Az's) favourite player after the player, when visiting Isr*el with his chick Shakira, put on a little hat and looked as if in prayer ...

No, I absolutely loathe Pique, but it I find it strange that he'd do this, especially as Shakira is reportedly antisemetic. Is there an explanation for it?

Btw, extra points for the condescending 'little hat' comment.

More than €30M, but he isn't coming the be there.

Bojan - Roma deal is complete, good to see he is going with Luis Enrique, will surely succes. Hope he one day comeback as a man.

in recent decades, Spaniards typically haven't done too well in Serie A ... but Serbs have, and still do ... so maybe Bojan's ancestry is just the ticket to break the hoodoo ...

I know he's not from the recent history but Luisito Suárez, from Barça to Italy, did pretty well. Having Luis Enrique as coach will help Bojan a lot.

hah, yeah, Luis Suárez not being recent is an understatement ... think José Mari, Farinós, de la Peña, Gaizka, and Pep ...

as for Lucho helping him out: hopefully you're right, and hopefully it works out well for them and Roma (I'd genuinely like to see this happen) ... but Luis Enrique will be under pressure to prove his worth straight away, in a foreign league, where intricate tactical planning is paramount ... not to mention having to deal with Francesco Totti, who will constantly challenge his authority if things don't happen the Roman's way ... so unless young Kirk fires right away for Roma, he may be consigned to warming the designer benches in Italy ...

Udinese may have been a better destination, though I realize the wage issue may have been a problem ... but in Udine, he'd be much more likely to get a consistent start, and he would be an instant fan favourite if he earned them a Champions League Group Stage spot ... anyway, hopefully that fate befalls Jeffrén, for the sake of calcio ...

And what? Doesn't anyone have to fill them too? (H)

Man you guys are so spoilt lol. 40 millions for someone who's gonna sit on the bench for many games. Replacing a first team player with a new player will only disrupt the team chemistry. Can't see him replacing anyone in the starting lineup. Unless he plays ahead of Pedro. But Barcelona usually play with a right sided player on the left right? Why change the team when its already good.

Btw serioulsly, that Barcelona bench looks very comfortable. (H). Barca subs are lucky.

Lucho will make a huge impact in calcio, i'm confident. Roma to win scudetto! i saw him in Barça B and it's really awesome, he's very competitive and can create a great working atmosphere. I wish he will replace Pep when this one leave. Thiago and Montoya linked with Roma latelly, if we finally sign the ******* Cesc, Thiago must go there to do not waste his talent at camp nou bench like Bojan did.

Carroll cost 35 millions. No way Arsenal would accept this kind of offer! At least 50 millions.

Jordan Henderson went for what? 25m Euros? Why would they let Cesc go for a comparable price?
are you really asking this question, knowing the overpricing of English/British players within England?
and fyi, Carroll was £35m ... Barça are talking about €35m ...

What a goal by Thiago! Genius!
Barcelona would be crazy to pay 40+ million for Cesc and let Thiago leave.

Assuming he stays, do you think he will stay with the first team? I think he's ready to play a big role next season.

Thiago has played impressively everytime I've watched him play. Barça would be making a big mistake in letting him go only to break the bank on Cesc. He's following suit with all the successful canteranos.

Agreed 100%.
I'll throw my accord to these sentiments too ...

even without injuries, Thiago should be given his chance in the midfield rotation ... with injuries, I could see Thiago being given starts ...

IMHO, Cesc returning on anything other than a Bosman means Barça are overpaying ... but it's not my money, and I would definitely like to see the Prem lose a star player, and La Liga gain one ... so I don't mind if they spend, provided:
- it is an amount that would be considered 'low' in terms of the market
- it happens after the player pressurizes the club to let him go home, after Barça make it clear they will go no further than their low ceiling offer
- Cesc says he wanted to leave the Arse and join a team that can actually wins the big trophies
