Make America Great Again
Sir Didier Drogba;3990166 said:I get that's it's all about training /sharpening reactions, improving vision and range of passing, bolstering natural technique etc until I becomes ingrained - but this is mostly about arming players with the tools so as to optimize the possible/capable reactions in each and every situation. Like sharpening a boxer to automatically block every punch or swing every time the opponent shows a mm of chin. You are taking a creative player and optimizing his skills so he can do the most he can with his creativity, no?
In the Dutch and Barca style, they drill the defense and give the players the freedom in the final third only.
Also, Favre's last spell wasn't a disaster. He actually did well with Gladbach, but got off to a very poor start to his 3rd or 4th season and decided to resign out of respect for the club. Favre is a great manager. I actually just realized he was managing Nice a couple days ago and it made total sense.
