I saw there was a "Favourite Actor" thread, but I thought that we also needed a "Favourite movie character" thread, to discuss who is the coolest movie character ever.

My vote goes for Stansfield (played by Gary Oldman) in Leon. I don't know, there's just something about him that makes him really cool.

Most characters Al Pacino played. But my favs are Tony Montana, Carlito Brigante and Michael Corleone. I'm a big fan of Pacino movies. :)

oh, I gotta add Wes Studi playing "Magua" in Last of the Mohicans.. I think Studi's an amazing actor in general, unfortunatly there aren't many different roles he can play given his appearance.

Gary Oldman is amazing too as he is in Fifth Element. He's just the most amazing villain.

For me its Robert Duvall as Colonel Bill Kilgore in Apocalypse Now - such an amazing character and acted to absolute perfection.

Second is another Vietnam officer, R. Lee Ermey as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Full Metal Carlos*et, great to watch and the only character more quotable than my third favourite which is...

Samuel L Carlos*son as Jules Winfield in Pulp Fiction - just so amazingly cool and incredible.

Other great characters include Sam Spade (Humphrey Bogart, The Maltese Falcon), Harry Lime (Orson Welles, The Third Man), Hawkeye and Trapper (Donald Sutherland and Elliot Gould, M*A*S*H) and probably many more I cant remember.

I like the guy that played Sam in LOTR. Leonardo DiCaprio (he's a fag, yes...) in Catch me if you can.

I love this kid that acts in this movie with Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon, can't remember the name of the movie at the moment. well, I like him...

Just remembered one of the best that I missed out - Charles Laughton as Captain Bligh in Mutiny on the Bounty - an amazing character played to perfection.
