saw the much praised Crash, and I got some beefs.

Although it was a pretty entertaining movie, and I never lost interest, I cant help but think a movie like this is very easily written. Pick a topic; Racism. and than write 5 scenerios with different people/events, and than tie them together somehow at the end. Its not that hard. I'd give it major points if it was the first of its kind, but Ive seen this type of movie several times, and in some cases like Magnolia its a complete ripoff (Ive never seen Magnolia, basing it on a friend who said so). What makes this movie is the acting. I think thats what makes Haggis' movies appealing. Pretty simple storyline, but very well acted. I didnt like the fact that every single actor in this movie was recognizable, felt kinda cheap. Had some genuine laughs though, and Id still recommend it to most people.

I also hate the movies slogan/tagline, which is pretty much saying everyone is a racist.

That's one of the best short summaries of a film I have ever read, and I havent even seen it. (Y)

yeah, good review, though I kind of disagree. I mean, now it seems that it was an easy thing to do, and it'll probably get lots of ripoffs, but what you have to admire is the balls he had to write that stuff. Making racist comments right in the face of those people? that's hard stuff to pull off. you think about it, but from there to actually make it? I bet that was a very hard time for the actors while filming it (Y)

oh yeah, and Jennifer Esposito's boobies :jambo: :chick: :hump:

Hakeem, keep in mind this movie sort of ripped off past movies. I KNOW that ive seen movies with type of story (minus the racism), but its killing me I cant recall the names. Im not gonna give away what happend, but I will say that the conclusion of the scene with Ryan Phillipe and Cheadle's brother definately felt like something Ive seen before

After M$B and this, I can definately describe Haggis as a very powerful filmmaker. The scene with the door repair man, his daughter and shop keep owner was one of those scenes that will stick with you for a while. On an intensity level this movie is similar to American History X.

Matt Dillon should definately get an Oscar nomination for supporting actor, to me he was the best actor in a movie full of stars.

Don Cheadle getting in the way ruined the Esposito scene for me (:/)
