FA Cup 2008 Final - Cardiff vs Portsmouth [R]

Goals
Kanu for Portsmouth (37)

Well, as expected by many, Portsmouth have won the FA Cup.
A very cagey game with few chances, understandably both teams didn't take risks going forward until the deadlock was broken by Pompey.
Great achievement for Harry, he's been in a few odd places in the past, he deserves this trophy.
As for Cardiff, it was good seeing a non-premiership team in the final unfortunately once Pompey scored they never looked like getting back in the game. Still great achievement for them to reach the final. Felt sorry for Jimmy(JFH), his career does deserve an FA Cup trophy. Fowler didn't play.
I'm suprised no one bothered posting about this. Even if its just Pompey and Cardiff.

Congratulations Portsmouth, new FA Cup Champions!!

Congrats Pompey, but I wanted Cardiff to get this one, and of course, I wanted Robbie to play, but oh well...

Crap game.

Just about as crap as our final against u lot last year!!
If one of the big four were involved in a game like this surely people wouldn't call it crap would they? :D

Like I said both teams were too careful approaching the game, too afraid to take risks and make mistakes, so a cagey(or crap as u call it) game was the order of the day. Remember Pompey are in the final for the 1st time since the 1930s and Cardiff were quite poor in the Championship tbh, so both were a bit too careful for the neutral's liking.

First half was good. We're going to have to wait at least another year to see a proper net burster goal in the FA Cup final (at the new Wembley). Glad for Pompey though and the likes of James and Campbell.

PS: Last year's final was absolute dogsh*t. On a whole level of its own in terms of poorness.

hehe, dogsh*t or not, if yer team won it, who cares what others think.
I'm sure Pompey fans feel the same way.

We apologize for keeping the yellow too long

Not boring but not exciting either. Cardiff created a lot a half chances in the latter part of the 2nd half but just couldn't get their shots past the Premiership defenders.

Net burster???? You had PRECISELY THAT and then some in 2006.

Both 2005 and 2007 were rubbish.

Yes... obviously that sentence was supposed to end with "at the new Wembley", I must have had a brain lapse.

well done Pompey ... and well done Harry ... I've got a soft spot for him, purely due to his ability to get the clever deals and entice good players to join him at a less-than-glamorous club ...

a trophy to end the season ... Europe and a new badge (see below) next season ... and the new and amazing Dockland stadium coming soon ... things are looking rosy for Portsmouth Football Club ...

I can't wait for that new stadium...I've seen a couple of photos and it looks amazing. I myself like Harry a lot too...I think he's a very good manager
