I think we will probably only get one of those two.

Either Alves on the right and move Zambro, or Abidal on the left, Zambro on the right.

BARCA 2 - 1 DEPOR ( messi, etoo - adrian )

very nice game , some moments of brilliance by us , but we let depor breath we ended the game suffering tought barca owned the game from start, this game should have ended 3 - 0 instead of the 2 -1 , but thats football.

Decent performance but Depor is a tough team. The ref was very annoying as usual. Two beautiful goals and 3 points in the bag to put pressure on the chasing teams.

The second goal is pure art. Ronaldinho-Iniesta-Ronaldinho-Xavi-Ronaldinho-Andrade:D-Eto'o, all first touch. Brilliant.

yes mate but those rumours have nothing to do with this season, ima pretty sure barca already knows by now whats missing for the team and who they need to get rid off. plus they need to start talking to people now because at the end of the season prices are going to go up like crazy believe me.

I agree, it's just annoying sometimes.

I also think we need to fortify in several areas.

Ideally, we would get Abidal, Gabi Milito, Alves, Klose and Xabi Alonso.
According to the rumours anyway.

Realistically, I think we will get Andrade, Diogo, Albelda(maybe), Forlan.

Plus I would imagine Dos Santos will be promoted to the big club.

I thought Diogo was already sold to Zaragoza, I am guessing your talking about him? I do remember reading it a while back that he will stay with Zaragoza.

yeah socrates is right , diogo already made a deal to stay with zaragoza , and about dos santos i already mention some posts ago that barca has officially promoted him to barcas first team for next season. :)

uptil now the only player tha iam almost 100% is going to sign for us is taiwo from marseille, very very good player with alot of projection for a reasonable price, like about 6 million is what marseille are asking.

i been reading, seeing and hearing alot of news and iam pretty sure neither alves or cristiano or any major player is going to sign for barca,
barcas financial vicepresidet soriano has stated barca have 50 million for 4 new players for next season , if we do the math , thats not even enough for cristiano, and seviila and lyon are asking to much for alves and abidal, plus lets remember that the players that in reality are going to leave the team , are those that are going to go for free like saviola, gio, silvinho; the smart thing for barca is to sell guddy to manchester and deco to either milan or chelsea, in which imo we can get some good replacements for a fair price and still have some money left.

I just read yesterday that the Zaragoza deal with Madrid hasn't been closed due to Madrid wanting an "Anti-Barca" clause in the contract to prevent Zaragoza selling Diogo to Barcelona for more money after they close the deal.

Originally for 6m, they would lower it to 4.5 m, but with the condition that they don't sell him to Barca.

Diogo has stated that he wants to stay in Zaragoza, but then said the famous "you never know what can happen in football" line.

Actually that's why he could come. Real Madrid would not negotiate with Barça but once he leaves Real Madrid, the door's open.

Thanks for the update on the news ( I have been out of it lately ), and imo its a bit ridiculos. I know it's been done before but that's a stupid reason to be holding out on money/the transfer. Infact I would either do 1 of 2 things, either call him back ( and sell off Cicinho ) or just sell him to you guys. I am guessing we would catch a bigger transfer that way anyway, it's not like he is the only RB in la liga.:nape: I think you know what I mean but meh.

Yeah, but since you have a petty fuck named Calderon running your team, that's what happens.

Anyway, I'd rather we sign Alves on the right and Abidal on the left.

We should be seriously thinking about going after Alou Diarra in Lyon.

He is a great physical talent and would be a beast playing in front of our defense. He is very similar to M. Diarra, but not quite as good of a passer. Still he is a monster and is even bigger and stronger than M. Diarra.

If we got the Militos, Alou Diarra and either Abidal or Alves, I would consider this summer to be a huge succes. Diogo would also be nice as Zambrotta is not getting any younger. Also I wouldn't mind selling Deco to Inter and buying Lampard, but that's a long shot.

1. I know Deco's having a bad season, and his commitment is questionable, but I'd never consider for a second selling him in order to get Lampard. I'd never want to see Lampard in Barcelona. I think Deco just needs to be told that he isn't untouchable, because having an attitude like this he must think we're dead in the water without him. Deco on form is much better than Lampard on form, IMO. I think Lampard got his rep mostly because of his amazing goal scoring record, having in mind he's nowhere near a striker. But the fact is, Deco is surrounded with R10, Eto'o, Messi, Xavi, Saviola, Iniesta... it's harder for him to stand out when the other players on the team are doing their utmost to be attractive and spectacular. I think Deco is overall a better player than Lampard, faster, much better dribbler, equally capable of scoring and can basically run the game better.

2. But to focus on other issues... I don't see where the admiration for Abidal is comming from... I don't think he's anything out of the ordinary. I'd love us to sign Heinze. I know his name was mentioned before, I just don't know if he's still a possibility.

3. Diogo? Wtf? Are we going to start signing Madrid rejects now? Or am I missing something?

4. The Milito brothers, Alou Diarra and Alves would be fantastic. I just don't know how we'll pay all those fees. We'll most probably spend around 20M, if not more, on Alves. Our transfer policy is not to pay the double of the objective value (Madrid), or triple (Chelsea), but we'll still get sucked dry. Does anyone know our budget? Because I don't see how it can withstand the challenge of two players bought from Sevilla and Lyon. The only hope I have is that maybe Madrid and Chelsea are dumber than we think, so maybe that explains the hefty fees. Otherwise, if Lyon keep negotiating like they did so far, Sevilla as well, they'll ruin our finances, and for only two players! I didn't even mention Zaragoza, and their duo are more than worhty of a nice transfer fee...

I fear that we're getting carried away with all these super signings. I don't see how we can afford them all, in one summer, while in debt (I know it's under control, but it's a debt nevertheless).

VISCA EL BARCA!!!

Well, I have been reading a few too many columns on Sport.es and ElMundoDeportivo.com these days :$

I've seen Abidal in a few matches and he just seems like a machine, running up and down the flank and is pretty good at taking care of his own end, something that we can't currently say about Sylvinho and Gio.

Abidal has already stated that he would like to play in Spain, and has just 2 years left on his contract and a fairly good relationship with the club. He does have some leverage since the club would want to cash in on his current form and not lose him on a possible free after next year.

Alou Diarra is on the outs at Lyon, which I read about on football.fr. He has openly challenged Houllier and it is very doubtfull that they will keep him. Also, since he hasn't played much all year, his value will be lower than if he was a featured first team player, unlike Essien and Diarra, which were key pieces of the squad in their day who basically forced Lyon to sell them, therefore driving the prices up. Also, Lyon is interested in Giuly to bring some winning experience to the club, and might be willing to take him instead of money. Giuly could go as it looks like Dos Santos will be promoted to the first squad and could back up Messi there.

Now we come to Alves, who would probably be a very expensive proposition, but is simply the best in the world currently at his position, and I think worth paying for. Diogo is coming on strong and has developed nicely, and you can honestly say that Madrid has not been exactly stellar in their talent evaluation over the past few years. They passed on Gabi Milito, and look at his level, and there have been several other instances. He was basically loaned out because Capello didn't know who he was and we all know that Capello has his head up his ass. I think he would be a viable alternative to solidify the right side, and he couldn't be worse than Belletti.

Then we come to the Militos, who I think would also be well worth the money, but I'd take Gabi first, and Diego if we can get him.

What you say about Lampard is true, although I think maybe you underestimate him a bit. He does seem to score a lot, and he's a very good midfield engine and a good passer and distributor, as well as his late arrival and nose for the net. He's bigger and stronger than Deco, and our midfield has been run over at times this season. Deco seems to be disinterested, and may be somewhat jaded after so many years in a row of winning everything. That is what I've seen of him this year anyway. It might be a good shakeup. I still have a great respect for him and Deco is one of my favourites ever since watching what he did with Porto 2 years in a row. I would like him to stay, and be motivated like he was the past 2 years and be the Deco we all know as a great player.

And as to the money, well we are getting a whole lot more from Nike, plus the Far East tour, and our continued position in the CL. I think that Laporta could probably make some of these work. Plus we will probably sell some players like Sylvinho and Motta and Gio and maybe even Guddy, which would bring some money back in. (Obviously not nearly enough to cover what would go out) But I think they could find ways to come up with some money for some of those transfers.
