I don't think you can start all four forwards.

well they are not all forwards, at least in the pure complete striker sense, thats only etoo and henry, plus rijkaard has always stated that we wanted henry since the past season casue we wanted a 4-4-2, so ican really see rijakaard usind dinho and messi as sidemidfielders, what i dont see is deco in the starting lineup, he is going ot need to play with 2 "pivotes", maybe toure with xavi, well that is if we do get toure lol.

Maybe..but do you really think Rijkaard will give up the 4-3-3?

I'm not so sure. Also where do you fit Iniesta? He needs to get games.

yeah i do really think he is going to put etoo and henry uptheir together, and about iniesta well i have one word , "rotation", plus i am almost sure whoever we get as DM ( probably toure) he is going in the rotation system too, so for me its pretty much like this....

etoo----henry

dinho---iniesta/deco/xavi---- toure/xavi/iniesta---messi

so if you see it right this lineup isnt nothing out of the ordinary, messi has always played the flank, and dinho he was suposed to play freely he was always sticked to his flank too.

Haha. Barcelona´s buying stars. The coming seasons Barcelona will be the Real Madrid of the past few seasons. A group of underperforming stars.

Man, we could never do like Madrid. We understand what we need to win. Henry is the only striker we're gonna get, now we jsut need one DM and one CD. Then the team is complete. And some players will get sold... ( Deco )
So, it's nothing like madrid's ten 50mil strikers.

I think

- we should abandon the 4-3-3, as it makes little sense to stick to an open book

- we shouldn't try playing with a 3-man defense because it's a suicide for a team that doesn't have at least four great CBs with great cover from the DMs. We shouldn't even entertain the idea of a 3 man backline, because it would be ridiculous with our team, we don't have the players for it

- we shouldn't be as arrogant as to think we can't do like Madrid did in these past few years. We can and very easily, too. It's all a matter of attitude. We have a better team than them and we are second anyway. We have to be careful with our superstars this season

- we shouldn't play with Eto'o, Messi, Henry and Ronaldinho on the field at the same time, but this can be avoided:

- we should sell Ronaldinho. It will be a record sale, we'll make it easier for both Eto'o and Henry, we'll get money to cover LB/RB, DM, CB and whatever position we want, and we'll get rid of a stuck-up superstar who doesn't even bother to turn up at training.

thats seems the most ligical thing, henry loves to play on the lft and i think he will take up ronnies place, hopefully hell go to milan and that will give us a chance of landing kaka. LoL

A Ronaldinho-Iniesta-Xavi-Messi midfield would be overrun by basically every other team. You need defensive physical midfielders as well.

You're late, that happened last season. Barça lost la Liga because the players were too relaxed.

We need changes and Henry is very welcome. Eto'o alone is not enough. This season he got injured and we missed him too much.

Henry doesn't come to retire. He comes to win the titles that he couldn't win in Arsenal. I hope that motivates Ronaldinho as well.

The situation is very different to Real Madrid. Florentino Perez was who decided what the team needed and he sacked Del Bosque after winning la Liga. Rijkaard is staying at Barça even if Barça didn't win any important title and he decides what we need alongside Txiki Beguiristain. We're not selling our Makelele to buy a Beckham. Florentino signed figo, Zidane, Beckham, Ronaldo, and he didn't care about the rest. Laporta said on tuesday that Barça will make 4-6 signings. One or two forwards, one or two midfielders and two defenders.

So we're not the new galacticos at all. Barça had the chance to get one of the best players in the world at a good price. Any other team would have done the same.

There are 70 games every season and Ronaldinho-Eto'o-Messi can't play it all.

Guys... honestly. I understand your excitement, but those are PES formations. They would never work in real life except in very specific situations like near the end of a match where we needed pure offence. That formation would be overrun in every game. If we played with that formation we would indeed turn into Madrid with Galacticos. A champion needs balance, not pure offensive talent. Note that Madrid finally returned to being champion when they brought in the best defensive mid in the world (Diarra) and a very experienced veteran DM (Emerson).

If we go to a 4-4-2 with Messi and Ronnie on the wings, we would need to pair Xavi/Deco/Iniesta with a big strong dominating defensive midfielder or we would be lose the games easily. Also, Zambrotta is very offensive, so we would need to get Abidal who is more defensive on the left and still it would be tough.

This is the most likely deployment of the 4 forwards:

Yea, I didn't mean that we should play that formation every night or anything like that. It was more of a "The Best" XI for the team as individuals and attacking.

Seriously if all of our important players should stay, we should rotate our attackers, and get a good DM, so that our XI owuldn't be overattacking. If we don't get that, Rafa needs to step up a lot from last season. But, I believe he is capable to that.

Our team looks very strong and if Frank knows what to do with it, we have a great chacnce of taking the title back to us, where it belongs.

nice ilustration mate, and about waht you are talking , you miss to notice tought madrid played with emerson and diarra , they also played with RVN, robinho, raul and reyes or beckham; robinho played as a winger all season tought he isnt one, raul played like and offensive midfielder tought he isnt one too, you see waht iam going with this , if you are comparing to madrid, our llineup for next season woulndt be that much diferent to theirs, so i am pretty much sure the 4-4-2 lineup could work, but i will admit our midfield players are going to need to work harder next season, thye are goint to need to fight more if rijkaard wants the system to work properly.

Yeah I know what you mean, but we do not have any defensive midfielders of the calibre of Diarra and Emerson. That gave those other players you mentioned the security to go forward, plus the Capello system is like that.

I don't want us to play the Capello system ever :funny: but I think if we have a really good pivote defensivo like Rafa was last year and like maybe Toure or De Rossi or someone (hell, even Gattuso would be great, but he'd never leave Milan to come here). So we need one DM playing well with vision and ability to move the ball, then supported by Deco/Xavi/Iniesta like we had in the past. That was how we became so successful because it allowed our offence to have the confidence to know they would get the ball back from the midfield. It also protects our backline and allows the wingbacks to get down the flanks.

Next season Dos Santos and Bojan will be in the first team. It has nothing to do with Deco, Dos Santos is a left attacking midfielder. The only problem is that he doesn't have european passport, although he'll get it soon, hopefully before the start of the season.

Yaya Touré is already in Barcelona. He'll be the second signing. Chivu and Abidal could be next. I still hope that we sign another DM.

Agree... I think one more DM for coverage and our squad will be nice and strong.

Also, if Rafa returns to form, we would have great competition for positions in our defensive areas.
