Barca close to shirt deal

Barcelona have confirmed they are discussing a possible shirt sponsorship deal with a Chinese governmental organisation.

It had been thought the Primera Liga leaders were in talks with the organising committee of the Beijing Olympics as they look to carry advertising on their shirts for the first time in their 105-year history.

Club president Joan Laporta has already travelled to China to meet interested parties, and a Barca spokesman said: "We are not in negotiations with this (organising) committee but a Chinese governmental organisation with whom we have a confidentiality clause."

Barca treasurer Jaume Ferrer had earlier told Spanish radio station RAC 1 that an agreement was only "a question of weeks away."

Laporta knows Henry well from his time with Nike and Marca says he recently spoke with the French ace about a move to the Nou Camp next season.

The Barca president's great dream is to bring Henry to Spain to play alongside Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto'o in an attack that would match anything in Europe both for ability and glamour.

After meeting with Henry, Laporta is convinced the Arsenal striker is warming to a move to Spain, particularly Barcelona, where he will be shielded from the controversy involving Spain coach Luis Aragones earlier this season.

That's pretty much what Tixi said recently, although he said that the team was looking to make one big sigining. Apart from that, he said that the return from injuries of our players will seem like new siginings, which is very true.

Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Henry... I won't even think about it. Because if I do, I'll become obssesed and very disappointed later on because it'll never happen.

It wouldn't be too good for us financially and we'd be neglecting Larsson, Maxi and potentially Saviola. I don't know. I think I'm too impressed with the prospect of Thierry Henry in Barcelona that I can't think objectively. If I were neutral, I'm sure I'd see more downsides of that deal than I see now. I would love to see Maxi succeed with us. Saviola as well.

Why are we even talking about this? It's not like it's going to happen. LOL.

I don't like Savi IMO, we need the cash, We will end up selling Oscar Lopez, Sergio Garcio, Gerard, Riquelme, Saviola, i'm sure there's a few more, we can get quite and amout of cash for them.

According to 'Sport' Barça is close to sign the Belgian goalkeeper of La Louviére, Silvio Proto, 21 years old. He may be loaned out one season to a Spanish club. Proto confirmed that there have been contacts but there's nothing signed yet.

..and it seems that Juve are going to sell Zambrotta because they don't have money to buy new players and they want Gilardino.
