An this exclusive interview with fcbarcelona.com, Samuel Eto'o claims Barca have shown themselves well worth their spot at the top of the Spanish League this season.
After his injury against Getafe, Samuel Eto'o was back in the starting line up for the 0-4 win at Malaga and when we spoke to him after the game, he was clearly full of confidence in both his own recovery and the team's performance.
How are you feeling now after your injury?
"The truth is I feel fantastic I couldn't be better."
Were you worried about your knee during the game ? There were one or two heavy tackles weren't there?
"Yes, César Navas got me just where I picked up the knock against Getafe, but I felt fine that kind of tackle is what you expect in these kind of games".
So, what was it like having to watch the team from the sidelines while you were injured?
"You always suffer more watching from the stand. The best thing todo is to work hard at getting back as quickly as possible. I think the team has played really well though."
Does the win in Malaga show that the pressure is more to do with people off the pitch than the players?
"I've always said that the pressure is something the fans feel -for us football is a game and we're here to enjoy it. Some days you win and some you lose once you've accepted that, there's no need to worry".
What do you think of the claims in Madrid that Barca are leaders because they've had help from the referees?
"We're leaders and everyone's seen we've played the best football, won the most games and taken the most points. Maybe it's normal when your behind to talk about the teams above you, but since there's no one ahead of us, I've nothing to say".
What's the key to winning the league now?
"We just have to keep on doing things as we have done so far this season then we'll see what happens".
You're also on course to win your first Pichichi award as the league's top scorer did you ever think your first season at Barca would be so good?
"I knew I'd have to play at my very best . I've always said there'd be more goal chances for me at Barca and I've worked hard and had a bit of luck so far and I'm happy with how things are turning out".
What's helped you settle in so quickly at the club and in the city?
"I think the fact that all the people at the club were so keen for us to do well and win something has helped the players fit in together".
With Oleguer and Gerard scoring against Malaga, it shows the team's strength lies across the whole pitch not just in one or two individuals, doesn't it?
"I think almost every player in the team has scored this season. At Malaga it was Oleguer and Giuly, who's scored quite a few this year, as well as Gerard who I think deserves more credit he's put in some great games this season, even if the press don't always recognise it. His goal was a reward for all the hard work his put in throughout the season - he's a great fighter and is always there to help the team out when needed. His goal showed all those qualities".

lol.. :funny: I love this quote.
"We're leaders and everyone's seen we've played the best football, won the most games and taken the most points. Maybe it's normal when your behind to talk about the teams above you, but since there's no one ahead of us, I've nothing to say".
Plain truth...
