exporting player data from pc_cl.bin

Hi guys!

A friend of mine having a FIFA 07 online league and dealing much with teh FIFA 07 database asked me if it's possible to export the data of the "new" players (after the FIFA roster update) somehow.
Currently it's in the PC_CL.bin file and as far as I've read the data can't be added to the fifa.db

Or is there a way? Or can it be exported to any other database file maybe? I think he just needs the tables to join them into his own database.

Can anybody help me with this?

I already found this thread: http://www.soccergaming.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2256673&highlight=pc_cl.bin

But it didn't help me :)

Cheers

The other thread that you linked to contains the current collective knowledge on the subject AFAIK. Yes, it ought to be feasible, and no, nobody has written a tool to do it.

As far as I read in the thread, you have developed a tool converting the file to csv (?).

Am I right, is that possible?

Not exactly. I updated my existing utility (which dates back to FIFA 2005) to read the data from PC_CL.BIN, if it exists, and use that data in place of the equivalent data from FIFA.DB (this affects three tables - players, teamplayerlinks and teamwrite). This is then used to drive the output of a CSV file that contains some of that data, but by no means all - I don't bother with anything related to the graphical elements of the game, for instance - and not in the original format (as you might expect from DB Master, say).

Just to give you a flavour for what I do output, the following are screenshots that I've taken for use in the burgeoning documentation for my utilities, that show the contents of the default player data CSV:

'Exactly' - I'm astonished

Could you send me the *.csv file
No. Rather than repeat myself, you can read my take on that option in this 'ancient' forum thread (nearly two years ago now, it seems like only yesterday). However, I am quite happy to send you a copy of the program that generates that file, although you'll obviously need to run it on a system with the appropriate patched level of updated rosters. Check that email address for a message with a download link (and let me know if you don't get it, I sent it from a different system and copied the email address 'by eye')
