Liverpool's form

I have been disgusted at Liverpool's form, and i can't c any possible outcome of liverpool winning this game. Everton 1-0 or 2-0 for me, even tho i'll still b behind the bhoys

Everton play host to Liverpool in a 12.30 kick off this Saturday - the 169th Merseyside league derby.

With Liverpool hoping to bury their recent shaky form to record their forth straight away win over their city rivals, David Moyes will lead his rejuvenated Everton into battle with the knowledge that the Reds have chinks in their armour.

Both teams are 6/4 to emerge victorious in the game, with odds of 11/5 for the draw. Why not have a bet with Ladbrokes...

But with Liverpool still looking for their first victory of the season after an opeining day defeat to Chelsea and goalless draws against Villa and Tottenham, Gerard Houllier will want his men to be firing on all cylinders.

With no goals in open play this season - just a solitary Michael Owen penalty against Chelsea - it is expected that Owen will once again play up front with Czech youngster Milan Baros, who will be trying to prove that he's a much better strike partner for Owen, than the injured Emile Heskey.

The two strikers will be ably supported by Aussie winger Harry Kewell and with Steven Gerrard undoubtedly up for some midfield scrapping, and with Danny Murphy usually producing the goods in derby games, this season's midfield showdown should be a cracker.

John Arne Riise is expected to return to the left back position after being dropped against Tottenham and Jerzy Dudek looks set to remain in goal after two impressive clean sheets.

Last season's derby at Goodison Park was filled with hype about the precocious Wayne Rooney, but it was Michael Owen and Danny Murphy who grabbed the headlines, and all three points from the Toffees with a 2-1 win.

Both the Reds and the Blues are 8/1 to win by the same 2-1 scoreline. Have a bet with Ladbrokes...

Saturday's game will once again be coated in 'Rooneymania' after his ferocious strike against Charlton earned his side a 2-2 draw last Tuesday evening, as he aims to give the Toffees their second win of the season.

Chinese midfielder Li Tie misses out for Everton through suspension after he was red carded at Arsenal on the opening day of the new season. Scot Gemmill is out until the end of September with a torn thigh muscle and so the midfield quartet of Linderoth, Naysmith, Watson and Pembridge that started against Charlton is expected to remain.

Striker Kevin Campbell is out until mid-September with a hamstring suffered in Colin Harvey's pre-season testimonial against Bologna, and so Wayne Rooney will start up front alongside Tomasz Radzinski, with Big Duncan Ferguson on the bench after coming back from suspension.

I'm still keeping my 1-0 Liverpool win prediction. Great teams (H) perform great under great pressure ;)

Through thick and thin, we're LFC fans to the end, as we love our beloved club.

Lets hope we crucify Everton today and install some passion and hope to the no hopers who criticise far more than getting behind the team theyre supposed to support and the man who is in charge of it atm, houllier, our gaffer.

He's trying to combat criticism with the most offensive team last time we stepped out on the sacred Anfield turf.

Some team is going to be on the receiving end of a battering, and who better than Everton? Who the hell are Everton anyway?

We're the most successful club in Britain, so lets all start to pull together and make the likes of Paisley proud by getting behind the boys tomorrow and chanting til our lungs go pop.

LIVERPOOL FOREVER.

Make sure you get a guy sent off in the early stages.

Everton seem to have trouble beating teams with less men :p

1-0 Liverpool

After 42 minutes

Owen scored after about 38 minutes

Diouf has looked the most dangerous player by far. Rooney just missed a great chance. Textbook merseysider heaps of fouls. Few nasty tackles etc

hahaha.. finally a goal from open play... nice pass from kewell letting owen free and score with a little help from the post...

I think it was the everton defender that put owen through but good run from Kewell anyway, hes being playing pretty average though.
