Linkin Park is the best in Heavy Metal n of course better than SOAD. but SOAD is good in anotherway, ther lyrics rocks n the way they play electric guitar is like nothin else.

SOAD: heavy metal/alternative metal
LP: alternative metal/rap metal/pop metal/post-grunge
If i'm not mistaken the second one (LP) has more styles or genres. Did you even know those two groups??

ehm... I never said LP was better than SOAD
, in fact I like SOAD better, I'm just saying that LP has way more variations of musical styles than SOAD and that is a fact. You obviously don't know what you are talking about, SOAD throughout all their songs maintain a very similar style or genre, in this case, heavy and alternative metal (kinda like AC/DC with hard rock,they stick to one genre and from there they only opt for 'shades' of the same genre to make different songs)
On the other hand LP is more varied: they have rap sound abruptly changing into metal (In the End), N*sync pop-style melodies changing into metal ( Crawling) and many more variations especially on their first album

SOAD mix hip-hop into their music aswell...it's just not as clear as LP's mixing of hip-hop ...
yeah, that was my point. In LP songs you can tell a lot of variations between songs because they use rap,pop, metal, and so on in a very marked and clear way
SOAD songs always stay in the alternative and heavy metal genre with very slight variations
Saying LP has more variations of styles doesn't mean they are better by any chance.

That's not true.
Except for their self titled album, I don't think there is a single track (ok, there is a few) that is entirely metal.
I dunno if you've heard only a few of their tracks, or maybe didn't pay attention when you listened to the whole album but saying their one genre... you couldn't be farther from the truth.
Listen to Aerials, Ego Brain, Metro, Bounce, Spiders, Jet Pilot, Ieaiao, Roulette, Will They Die For You, Patterns and tell me those songs sound alike
They're one of the most eclectic bands out there...

well, I only listened to their first album (SOAD) and Toxicity and while I'm not a huge fan or theirs it seems to me that they stay with one genre and then they implement variations. Of course I never meant to say 'all SOAD songs are the same'
But the point of all this was which band has more 'styles', 'genres','variations' or whatever you want, and LP is the one by far.
Just listen to Hybrid Theory, each song has some 'metal' element but some have rap, the next song has some pop, the next song is straight metal and so on...
My point was that LP has more variations than SOAD that's all
