Who says the extra time was ever intended to last the full 5 minutes? It's the ref's decision how much time the 4th official should show to the public. If he wants to add 4 minutes and 35 seconds he would show either 4 or 5, and whistle after 4 min 35s.

I don't think anyone can argue that the time the whistle was blown was way too early, maybe if it was 9 seconds to go and Greece are taking a goalkick you can blow it, but not when a team has just begun an attempt to attack and there is 30 seconds on the clock to be played.

I'd like to know where the 5 minutes of extra time came from.......and if it was because of the idiot that ran on the pitch ,well that was about 2 minutes.......so Portugal got 5 more minutes to do something and they did not do it....end of story ..get over it .......it is now Euro history.............

I dunno, but in IMO, i think Portugal's style of play changed after Miguel was subsituted.

I honestly don't know what Scolari was thinking not subbing Pauletta as soon as the second half started.

What did that fruit Pauletta do in this tounament?? Let me count how many goals he scored, hang on..

The goal against France should've definately made the top 5, the way Zagorakis flicked the ball over Lizarazu and then crossing it in and then the header was just fuckin brilliant imo.

em it was more than 2 minutes, plus the normal extra time, which is usually 2, 3 minutes, so...

well considering most of extra time was fouls/offsides with the ball out of play and greek players "injured"/taking their time taking freekicks, i think playing out the given 5 minutes would only have been fair

though i think portugal's rhythm was broken, and they wouldnt have scored anyway

Congrats to Greece but their style of play throughout the tournament represents everything that is wrong with modern football tactics...Generally a pretty bad tournament overall. I've got one word to wrap the whole thing up....BORING......
