Our team has no chances to qualify :( I'm almost 100% sure they'll finish after both Serbia and Greece. Taking into account Russia's current position it's amazing how the team managed to get medals in 1993 and 1997 and how much things went wrong since then :(

Does kirilenko plays ?

You have no reason to (H), mate - 90% of all these victories were thanks to players of 2 occupied countries - Lithuania and Latvia. As you see there http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurobasket, Russia has never won European Championships as seperate state.
First of all, it's more like thanks to players of 1 occupied country - Lithuania. Latvia had much less influence on the Soviet basketball than Russia and Lithuania. And of course it's much less than 90%. Just look at the squads of the Soviet team at any of European Championships.

Haha. Its not that bad. When it comes to playing basketball it is easy there are basketball courts everywhere. Sometimes I even play it everyday. But when comes to NBA its pretty bad. Only people who play bball take interest follow NBA. An average English person would know Jordan and Bryant atleast.

My comments about all the matches:

Serbia 65:73 Russia

I had a hope that Serbians could win it but Russia proved me wrong. They took control right from the start and although Serbs managed to cut their lead, David Blatt's men were better. A very important win for Russia which should secure them 2nd place in the group.

Israel 66:76 Greece

European champions didn't have an impressive win. Israel didn't let Greeks to run away and kept the game open. However Greece is a better team in terms of players and experience. It's good to see all the teams fighting well and not letting big guns to get easy wins.

Latvia 85:77 Croatia

Here's the first shock - Latvia beat Croatia. I said it should be a tight game but I think we all thought it will be Croatians who will celebrate their win. Latvians did a great job securing a very important win and if they don't make another sensation by beating Spain, they should have a guaranteed 2nd spot in the group.

Portugal 56:82 Spain

I saw the start of Spain's game and I was cheering for Portugal of course :) Unfortunatelly Portuguese couldn't cope with world champions but at least it took time for Spain to increase their lead to a secure advantage. +26 points is impressive although everyone thought it would be even bigger.

Czech Republic 78:83 Germany OT

I was watching the livescore of Germany vs Czech Republic and was rootings for the Czechs. I hate one-man teams. If they managed to beat Germany I am almost certain that European vice champions would have left the competition right after the group stage. Turkey should defeat Germans tonight.

Turkey 69:86 Lithuania

It started heavily and was really close. But in the 2nd quarter there was a significant improvement in our game. Lithuania failed to attack well but the defence was really good and that's a acheievemnt of our head coach Ramūnas Butautas. After the half time we were even better. While not letting Turks to score we played fast in offence and they couldn't defend against us. I was very worried when Jasikevičius was injured as it looked like Eurobasket could be over for him. But he came back later and played well. Šaras will play today against Czech Republic but his time could be limited if we play well so that he could recover from the injury faster. In conclusion it was a great opening win against a strong team. Linas Kleiza was in his own style making 4 dunks and hitting a 3-pointer. I hope players will not relax tonight against Czechs and we will see one more great win.

Poland 66:74 France

I think that everyone expected a big win from France in this games. But it looks like team spirit of Poland was also big. Underdogs are putting all their effort to win the opening games. Though it could leave them tired during remaining matches. Well done for Poland for keeping the intrigue.

Italy 68:69 Slovenia

I predicted Slovenia to be victorious against Italy. It should have been a very tight match and so it was. I wonder if this loss would demoralize Italians or maybe it would have an opposite effect and bring the team together?

(Y) Good, I watched the semis and final and spain really shouldnt have won. They were faking fouls etc trying to force the refs give them even more advantage, and make opponents loose their rhythm and in general playing like pussies whenever their opponents were playing better. They even call them selves stuff like "the nba team" and dream team. Oh I hope they meet US next year...

and oh...AK-47 (H)
