Ricardo Carvalho on the bench?! No way mate, i bet he will play for sure, the coach is Mourinho... ;) only if he's not fit he would stay on the bench.
About the game i think Chelsea will win this match, maybe a 2-0 or 3-1... (H)

alot of the pre-match reports in england are saying carvalho is going to be on the bench :)

It is the 1st game againist one of our contenders for the title.

As well as Mourinho knows Carvalho it would be risky putting him in the deep end when we know Terry and Gallas are great together. I have no doubt he will start other games but 1st game in the EPL againist Manchester United, I doubt it.

Mourinho won't break up Gallas and Terry in this manner againist Manchester United 1st up.

A draw would be a good result at the moment, with all these injuries. The main worry is our lack of pace at the back. Of the entire back four, only Silvestre and Gary Neville seem to have any pace and with players like Robben, Duff and Kezman coming at the lads, there could be some problems. Spector is fairly fast but is too inexperienced at this level, so perhaps the experiment with Roy Keane in the centre of defence will continue. Our first-choice midfield seems to be ok at the moment. Yes we have Ronaldo missing, but Giggs, Scholes, Djemba-Djemba, Keane(if he isn't playing in defence), Fletcher and Miller are still around, so there shouldn't be too many problems there. Obvious problems up front though. Who will partner Smith? Scholes might play in the hole behind Smith, but that takes another class player out of midfield. Bellion is pacy but doesn't have much else at the moment, and Forlan is inconsistent at best. I reckon this should be our lineup against Chelsea:

-------------------------Howard---------------------------
------------------Keane---------Silvestre----------------
Gary Neville------------------------------------O'Shea/Spector

----------------Djemba-Djemba----------Miller-----------
Fletcher/Eagles-----------------------------------------Giggs

-----------------------------------Scholes----------------
----------------------Smith---------------------------------

It's the best lineup I can think of at the moment. Fletcher doesn't really strike me as a good right winger, so Eagles could come in, though in reality it's highly unlikely that he'll start, or even be named in the squad.

I don't really want Chelsea to win. But I think they will. I think people like Kezman and Drogba, and Robben will be so fired up that it'll be impossible to not score.

Hmm maybe 2-1 Chelsea?

I'd say different with the inclusions of Ruud Saha Heinze and Ronaldo though.

Should be a brilliant game to watch though.

For all the Man Utd fans expecting Fletcher to play, I'm pretty sure he's suspended- he got sent off on the last day of the season didn't he?

Anyway, Chelsea to win by at least 2 goals.

I'd be happy with a draw but I'd love a win to teach all those cocky bastards a lesson. Up to now I though Arsene Wenger was arrogant but he's nothing compared to Mourinho :kader:

looks like the best choice... With O'Shea and Eagles
if the Keane-As-CB experiment is not aplied then we'll have O'Shea back on center, Spector on the left and Keano on midfield for Miller... or Djemba...

Fletcher is suspended.

GK: Howard

CB: Keane
CB: Silvestre
RB: G Neville
LB: O'Shea
M: P Neville
M: Djemba
RM: Miller
LM: Giggs
OMF/CF: Scholes

Miller is actually a defensive-midfielder, a attacking-midfielder, a left winger, a right winger, or he can play in ANY position?
i saw him took the right corner with his right foot in his debut.
so he is right-footed or both-footed?
