Some might not be fans of the kind of play there, But the fact of the matter is that they win, however it is.
you are not alone in that sentiment, and my reply is a general one towards those who share that view with you:
football is part of the entertainment industry ... but if you live life solely by the scoreboard, and you like your entertainment the same way, then so be it ...
I, on the other hand, want to see beautiful football producing beautiful goals -- i.e. there needs to be both visual appeal and victory in unison; winning ugly is just as useless to me as nice passing going nowhere ...
but, there is no denying that the English representatives in the Champions League have reached a level of consistency that their more attractive-playing counterparts from Spain, Italy, etc. are unable to maintain ... not only that, some sides seem to be unable to cope with the brutal physicality they experience when playing English opposition in Europe ...
I say "English opposition" because though the Prem is littered with imports, imports are present everywhere ... the focus is on the idea of physicality, which embodies the traditional English "quality" of passion, which they deem to be more important than skill -- something, of course, I would never agree with ... so all those imports are merely playing to specification ...
I prefer to think that this sport is not about endorsing some distorted "masculine identity" of just muscle strength and speed; such things readily lend a lack of class to the sport, and it does not give much time to savour any aesthetically pleasing passages of play ... unfortunately, it does seem to be the effective mode of winning at the moment ...
one must note, however, that the natural process of adaptation to such a style is merely a matter of time ... by that I mean: the skillful sides in Europe will sooner or later raise their consistency and adapt to working within an even more physically-demanding environment ... Barcelona are leading the way in that aspect already, and hopefully it will result in Champions League triumph -- so that justice can be done to the purist philosophy (aforementioned) of how football "should" be played (and yes, I know the principle of relativity; this is just my opinion) ...
so, to all Prem fans, here are some clichés to express my thoughts: enjoy your time in Sun (the first real period for a while), and just remember that every dog has its day ...

teams like Man City, Everton (mid-table teams) cant beat teams like Fiorentina, Valencia or Bayer Leverkusen (all mid-table teams).
well, you clearly only watch the Prem when you mention Fiorentina and Valencia as mid-table ... but despite your incorrect examples, your point actually has some validity ... the problem is that the "which league is better" argument is an unending one ... the Champions League is usually taken as the litmus test, especially because it is hard to test the opposite philosophy, which states that you are only as good as your weakest link ... but for me, like I said before, life, and football too, is about more than just what the scoreboard says ...
