We won 1-0 and I think we played very well but in all fairness, that wasn't a typical starting 11 for England so I'll take the V with a grain of salt. Great strike from Iniesta and I really liked the control and touches Spain had in the midfield especially. What really shocked me was the lack of support at Old Trafford. There were many many instances where the Spanish fans out vocaled the English!

Can't say I was suprised , it was a **** starting line up, McClaren better get it right in the next qualifiers or he's out.

And you guys will be out of Euro if you don't get your act together before the game against Israel.

I was surprised by that also as us English are generally loud. But to be fair, it was a friendly and with our lack-luture performance there wasn't much to shout about, to be honest.

Also, McClarens got to go before we end up not qualifying for Euro 2008.
I don't have a clue why he was appointed as all he did was win the Carling Cup with Middelsborough - with whom he wasted about 30 million quid on ****e like Massimo Maccarone and still managed to finish roughly mid-table every season in the EPL. His tactics are rubbish - constant hoof-ball and that sort of play doesn't suit the likes of Gerrard or even Crouch as he can't head a ******* ball (not that I am dis-respecting Crouchy).
So all I can say is get that buck-toothed ginger twat out of management before he does a Graham Taylor.

Agree about McLaren. It also seems that he loves to overexploit Crouch. Like every ball is whipped into the box expecting crouch to head everything within a 5 yard radius in! England can be and are much better than this. I do like Phillips on the wing. He has so much pace and great footwork...he doesn't belong on the bench in club football. Hope to see him somewhere else showing his talents. Good win for us especially after all of the recent defeats. It'll give us confidence.
