Youth Team
Crouch is better than Heskey and consistantly scores more goals in less minutes. However, Heskey is meant to work well with Owen, so let's see how it goes.

My prediction is that we may end up with no goals by 65 minutes and Heskey looking fairly useless, then throw Crouch on in desperation and he scores/flicks on a header to someone else who scores.

Although to be fair, even with Heskey's useless goals return we should still have enough quality to get a result, and even play well. Tough one to call.

I have not thought it would end so fast. I guess even Guus Hiddink is powerless when it comes to our national team (:/)

I think Heskey has proved you wrong with his first half performance, he may not score the goals that Crouch does but he's 20x better at holding up the ball and being a target man. Having said that, i hope England don't just resort to long balls - but it's an option.

Great performance so far (Y) Barry has been class.

Owen's back (H)

Rio (H) great performance from the whole team.

My only grumble is Ashley Cole, he was bollocks - get Shorey back in there.

Will be interesting when some of the big boys are back, i say keep the same team. What a prospect of having a bench of Rooney, Beckham, Hargreaves, Neville, Lampard...

Go Engerland!
Wow... not enough we hear that from you!

Great result... Owen's certainly back. Most importantly two consecutive solid performances and enjoyable to watch. After so many dire games England are playing some attacking football!

Can't fault McClaren and his tactics over these two Wembley games... my only concerns is how much those choices were influenced by injury. He'll probably just throw Lampard back in there as soon as he can the idiot.

If he wants to keep this momentum going, He would be wise to keep these starting eleven, minus ashley of course. keep the injured players on the bench unless one of these guys gets injured..

And for those who thrashed McClaren for picking owen after a long layoff.... I wonder what they have to say now?? :X

IMO, one of the main reasons this side was picked was the injuries. The side looked so much better and balanced. Heskey might not be the best player, but he was given a job and he did it. Owen is looking sharp again. Micah Richards is unbelievable. Barry deserves to keep his spot.

Overall, England should be pleased. Good performance. And I hope they'll improve on it. They will hopefully make best use of their squad for the remainder of qualifiers.
