Emule... how does it work?

i recently downloaded emule... but i'm having trouble even starting downloading files. i know that in order to even search for files i must be connected to a server... but thats where i'm running into problems. i try to connect to a server, but it starts connecting, and then it disconnects... it never connects to the server... and i have no idea what to do... i read the help section and it didn't help me very much. i have version 0.46c


any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks!

antivirus firewall etc programms can cause that. make sure the required tcp and udp ports are opened and that nothing blocks emule. If you still have probs then you have a problem with ur internet connection
