That isn't a coincidence anymore...

BTW I think that Carvalho is better than Samuel.
All Samuel does is foul attackers.I've never seen him make a clean tackle like Puyol.Madrid should have gotten Carvalho, IMO.

It's been 12 or 13 weeks since a team won whilst having their shirt being weared by Tseng. The guy is a demon.:crazyboy:

Walter Samuel is a world class defender no doubt about it, the problem is that he does not have a Paulo Ferreira or a John Terry next too him in defence, instead he has some left-back who cannot defend and cannot even shield the ball without giving it away on the edge of the area, and some random bloke called Pavon - hell even William Prunier was better than Pavon.

Ok first of all congrats Barça fan for the victory, their team was superior to ours. Though IMO the result is a bit exaggerated compared to what could be seen in the field.

Till Roberto Carlos incredible fail, the game was being vey tight, with ocassions for both teams. But the first goal damaged our moral too bad.

For me the best from Madrid were, in this order: Figo (dribbled Gio all the times we wanted to), Samuel (very solid) and Guti(recovered 'n' balls).

And the worst one: Roberto Carlos (what can i say) Raul (it surprised me that he even touch a ball in all the match :( ) and Beckham :kader:

Our midfield were too slow in attack too. But........ OUR REVENGE WILL BE TERRIBLE MUAHAHAHA We hope u at Bernabeu ;)

Now more than ever, Hala Madrid!! :rockman:

i was too dissapointed yesterday to point out the good points, but I agree with you on the positives. Figo was as always hard working, even though the atmosphere wasnt friendly ;). Guti was also trying, and i didnt see any mistake from Samuel.

Samuel played OK but I lost all my respect for him after he almos broke that poor kid leg (don't remeber his name) he should have goten a red card for that.

Barcelona 3-0 Real Madrid

Photos from the Nou Camp
Barcelona trounced Real Madrid to move seven points clear of their great rivals in La Liga, but the game was marred by racist chanting.

England captain David Beckham started the match but endured a miserable evening and was replaced by Michael Owen in the 54th minute.

Real's Brazilian defender Roberto Carlos was the main target of racist chants from the home fans.

And there was bad news for Barcelona striker Henrik Larsson, who fears he need knee surgery after twisting his knee.

Former Celtic striker Larsson was carried off with 15 minutes left at the Nou Camp after twisting his knee.

"I can only hope for a good verdict. I am prepared for a meniscus injury," Larsson told the Swedish daily Expressen on Sunday.

"I can handle a meniscus operation, that shouldn't stop me. But it cannot be something really serious."

After the match, Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard said: "We've got to keep working hard and not get carried away just because we've won this match.

"The result shows us the way forward but we mustn't start thinking we are unbeatable."

Real boss Garcia Remon said hopes of winning the title were still alive despite the points deficit to Barcelona in the league.

He added: "It was an infantile error that led to their first goal and it came at the worst time for us. After that we just couldn't cope with the pressure."

If the rest of the Real Madrid players had Figo´s professional approach to the game maybe they wouldn´t have lost in such emphatic manner.
In what concerns the Carvalho/Samuel comparisson, you can´t argue that Carvalho has been having a couple of impressive season´s, winning trophies, being solid and convincing in both club and Nt. Samuel hasn´t been that great and that Madrid defence isn´t too reliable not just because he doesn´t have a good backup from Salgado, Pavon or Roberto Carlos but because he isn´t fully adapted to the La liga standarts and isn´t really showing that he is a solid full back. He may return to his Nt/Roma form in Real and start performing well again but currently Carvalho who is already adapted to the Premiership is a much more reliable and better option. Anyways i don´t think that he is currently the best, it´s difficult to make that assumption, specially when you see players like Puyol, Terry (extremely impressive in Chelsea) and Nesta being consistent and impressive every week too.

About the game, as usual it was a very interesting match and Barça clearly dominated and deserved this result. Barça are a pretty balanced team and every sector of the team is extremely strong. If Real Madrid had such a strong midfield and defence as Barcelona, perhaps the forwards would get more balls and have the chance to shine like Ronaldinho and Etoo. The problem is that Real Madrid´s game isn´t fluid and it was kinda depressing to see a team like Real Madrid resorting to long balls because they didn´t have anyone to build their game besides Figo´s sporadic line runs, Zidane´s ocasional genious plays (very few nowadays) or Beckham´s deadball situations. The major difference btw the two team besides the different confidence levels is that Barça is indeed a football TEAM and Real is currently a bunch of individuals trying to solve the game by themselves.

In what concerns the individual highlights, besides the fact that Ronaldinho is indeed a football genious and that Deco once again proved his critics wrong with another convincing peformance and one great assist to Gio or that Etoo is one lethal striker, i prefer to focus on another masterful display by Puyol. I love to see this guy perform, he is so impressive and his influence in the Barça team is undeniable. Forget the Betis blunder, every world class player has a right to have his off days (i remember Nesta miserable performance against Deportivo last year where Baresi in his "current" form would do better) Puyol is one of the best defenders in the world.

I heard the chants (uh-uh-uh), but only one time in the game when Roberto Carlos got the ball, and i thought i heard it wrong because, i mean come on, Barca's 2 biggest stars are black.
Obviusly i wasnt wrong :).
