Editing Teamnames

Hello!

I have got help from this forum before and with that help I have managed to edit players and also update team jerseys. But one thing people couldn't help me with back then was how I change names of the teams. Could someone explain why I can update the players in DB12 and their new names and ratings gets updated in game but not when I change the teamnames in DB12?

I assume I am suppose to do this in a different way because in the team table in DB12 there is no option to edit the abbrevation of the teamname, just the normal teamname. But when you play the game you see the abbrevations in some places.

Is it possible or should I stop dreaming?

To change teamnames you must open locale database in data/loc.
Then:
1. search in "stringid" the needed teamid
2. change the "sourcetext" field to the needed name
3. repeat it in the rest of the strings with the needed ID
4. save changes

I thought I got it, sorry. I did what you said, but do I need to do something more than that? It didn't update in game.

I tried to run the i68regenerator after I changed the names, but the names were still the old ones.

Then I tried to export the en files in /loc from the texture editor. Replace them with the ones I have changed with your help above. Then I tried to run the regenerator again, but still the old names.

I opened up the DB12 again to see if my changes were saved properbly and they are fine.

I am probably missing out something obvious here, but it's my first time trying to edit a fifa-game without the help of CM from Rinaldo.

The changes apperar only in the language file you edited. Maybe that is the problem :P
Second option is that you missed a teamname The ones that appear on the screen with friendly matches are saved in TeamName_Abbr15 & the scoreboard ones in TeamName_Abbr3

I changed it for all the abbrevations. Will take another look at it, thanks.

EDIT: Ok, got it right! I deleted the lang-files (D in the locale.big and it worked. Thanks!

I believe it's not the solution for your problem, putting those files in folder loc should worked with files inside .big. I have a similar problem, and I didn't delete them, just replaced them with the correct (my) ones, but it just feel bad :P I feel like I am missing something here...
