EA's bizarre concepts of football annoys me badly

I just couldn't believe that I read this, by FIFA producer, Nick Wlodyka, explaining the reason of those damn stupid FLAMING BALLS shot by star players:

" The idea behind this feature was two fold. First, the World Cup is an exciting event with lots of flair that usual competitions do not have. Second, Star Players are very key to each country's success. We looked at what made Star Players unique and better than other players and tuned these attributes (ensuring we kept gameplay well balanced) and supported them visually to ensure they stood out. "

Then what makes a player a star is that the ball gets on fire when he shoots !??? God damn it, what makes a player better than another are his skills, his creativity, his shooting strength, accuracy, not MAGICAL POWERS !!! :f***:

Good point but...

The game was meant to bring up the World Cup atmosphere ...and star players have a big contribution to play in it...so I guess they graphically presented it with the flaming balls.

I dont mind the feature..it is an exclusive WC game after all..and there should be some aspects of the game that distinguish it from the rest. :)

Cheers, my 2 cents worth.

It's an idioptic feature that highlights EA's kiddie market well. If you're 8 years old, sweet, tough luck if you actually think football is interesting without fireballs.

Ok, you can turn it off, but my main point is that beside that they had more than 5 years to make star players different because of their creativity, passing and shooting skills, like in WE, where a star player always creates holes in your defence playing smartly.

I agree

Yeah, my brother also didn't like the fact that the ball caught on fire as he shot it... it is kinda on the fantasy side, when it shouldn't be, since this game is supposed to represent a realistic soccergame...

Quite sad isn't it ??

I don't know where EA takes those idiotic ideas from... Fifa will only be good if they rebuild totally its gameplay engine, not just tweaking this awful one that exists since Fifa 99.. I mean come on, if you notice the players don't even touch the ball when they are running with it, and when they shoot the ball flies to the player's feet, it's horrendous !
