early cross bug?

has anyone else had problems with using the lob pass in to the penalty are from the attacking midfield zone? Sometimes i'll push diagonal towards the box on my controller, hit the lob pass, and my foreward fires a rocket in the complete other direction to one of my backs. this is really annoying.
I'm wondering if it could be my controller or something.

to get it str8 to the forwards or whoever's in the box, press L1 and cross button.
