EA Sports Bio - Bad "feature"!?

Have anyone read about "EA Sports Bio" (on front page of EA's official FIFA 2004 website? I think it's a really bad thing as it is but a marketing ploy to get people to buy more EA titles. It deprives regular gamers of cool features of the game because they either don't want to play other games or buy them.

Oh you mean the points for different games feature. Honestly, it's obviously not a bad idea. And you don't have to buy the game you can rent it and so fourth. But eitherway I doubt it's gonna be that much of a game alternating thing.

I hope people will give this "feature" a cold shoulder because it'll be a bad trend. If I buy a game I expect to get full functionality. I can understand the unlocking system in the last two FIFA titles. Although challenging, it rewards persistent gamers. But this new EAS Bio says you need to buy and play OTHER EA games to get the stadia and other things in FIFA. That just is not right. Even though I'm not huge on dthe rewards it lwill leave a bad taste, knowing there are things in the game I won't get access to no matter what.

its not like the people that have other EA titles get an adventage...i mean in madden all i get for playin NCAA football is some crappy madden cards........so how is that it "deprives" a gamer? i mean if u really like the game ull play it alot

No offense, but come on guys, get a sense of fairness. We're not talking about playing FIFA more, but getting and playing other EA games on a different system (I'm a PC gamer) just to get full features on a game that someone buys. It's like a VCR that requires you to buy a TV and maybe tapes from the manufacturer to get all the features - features that don't require a special TV or tape. Maybe the stadiums or player likeness don't mean much to you, but there are lots of people who do and they are the reason, after all, for the huge Soccer Gaming Downloads section. Again, if this catches on, there'll be more and more features tied to EAS Bio.

OK, I'll stop, but I just don't get why I shouldn't expect everything to be available in a product I pay hard-earned money for.

it dont matter about the ea bio.. if you already have bio hours on your machine you will unlock things faster.. if not you will still unlock them.. you'll just have to play more hours.. I dont see the big deal really

Some of you cry to damn much it isn't like the EA bio feature would keep something like career mode or friendly mode locked it'll prolly just be something like alternative kits or something. Just like the madden cards that Skip mentioned, they don't really matter but are something to reward you with

i must agree, i don't want to play another EA title just to unlock rewards in fifa04. i just want to play fifa04, not madden football or tiger woods, or nhl. i'm a soccer fan, and that's it.

you dont have to play any other games to unlock things in fifa... it will just take you more hours.. because you dont have any bio hours..

Valioso could you please close this thread, it's obvious some of the people who reply are failing to realize that you already explained that they didn't have to buy other EA products, like the previous guy said i just want to play soccer/football, then if he'd of read what you posted above he would have realized that all he has to do is just play fifa longer to unlock things
