I have a problem with downloading the official ea patch. After it finds my fifa files,i press next and it says that the "old file" was not found and that allthough it found one with the same name,it couldn't do the update since the file contents don't match.
Any help...?? :/

There are several possible explanations for this, and it may also depend on whether or not you are applying the first patch (rosters update from the end of the 2006 summer transfer window) or the second one (roster updates from January 2007 transfer window).

Firstly, you cannot apply the second patch without having applied the first patch. Secondly, you cannot apply the patches to a modified FIFA 07 installation (this includes a cracked EXE, or a gameplay 'patch' that has modified CONFIG.DAT, as well as more obvious full 'patches' like the CEP). Thirdly, you must get exactly the right patch for your FIFA 07 installation, and that isn't always obvious.

Best advice I've seen on identifying the correct patch to apply can be found in this thread on the official EA UK FIFA forums

Steve, I've pm and email you. Do check it out~
Both received. I will reply via email because I need a little more information, I think, before I can diagnose the problem.

I'm not sure that I'll be much help - my FIFA 07 isn't even set up to connect to the outside world let alone play online - but assuming that you applied both of the roster patches, I believe that it is after a patch to the EASO component (which is not specific to FIFA but is shared across all EA Sports games). If you can find an EASO folder within your Start > Programs (or Start > All Programs, I think it is, with the XP Fisher Price interface) then there may be an update link in there. If not, or you can't find such a folder, then all I can suggest is a search of the official forums and perhaps a question asked there if the search turns out to be fruitless (these forums tend to lean towards editing the game, which precludes online play, so you'll find more in the way of people familiar with online on the official forums)

You're right,thanks again!:D
Well,i have one more question since i'm clueless in this whole patching thing:
I found from another site (fifa 4 fans) a patch which is called "best of facepatches vol3".I was wondering if you've checked that patch because i could use some help.I do everything i have to (including a patch for fixing some bugs about the first one) but in the end,the faces of the players are still the same. +_+
I'm really sorry for asking all these questions but i'm not very good in all this.

Well,i found things out about the patch (i'm getting better i guess :D).
Well,i haven't looked for the online thing yet but probably i'll be fine with it too.
Thanks for your help again!

One thing to watch out for here is that (generally) user-made 'patches' are not compatible with the official patches from EA. You therefore need to be very careful when applying user-made 'patches' to a version of the game that has had the official patch(es) applied to it. My recommendation would be either one or the other, but there may be others here who've had experience of applying user-made 'patches' to an officially patched version who can provide a better commentary on the pitfalls than I can.

Well,i have no problem with official patches (till now that is :D).
I have one more problem and hopefully after this one i'll stop bothering you. ^_^'
I had installed many patches and fifa was crashing.I've allready found a thread where it says that something like that could happen coz of the patches and that somehow we can check if the overall data of the pathes is too much for the game to handle.
My problem is that i don't know how to check that. XP

And something else. There are some patches without the unistall option. How can i unistall 'em?

Don't worry,my next questions will be in another section to find patches that i want. :D

Me neither (I think I've said it before, although maybe not on this thread, but my FIFA 07 installation is exactly as it was the first day I installed it from the DVD) but I would guess that if you search the forum(s) for FIFA.FAT you will find your answer

To be honest I wouldn't trust those with an uninstaller, because most of those so called 'patches' are simply replacing files without any reference to what is there already, and by running an uninstaller you may well be reverting to versions of some of those files that damage other 'patches' installed subsequently (I exempt .CMP files from Rinaldo's CM07 from that statement, since that attempts to do things in a more orderly fashion).

If you insist on installing 'patches' willy nilly then your only reliable uninstall mechanism is an uninstall and reinstall of the game itself. If you are more structured about it you would apply one 'patch' at a time, taking appropriate backups that you could revert to as necessary.
