That happens to me ALL THE TIME.
Also, Im not big on soccer rules (Im new to the game and I've never played for real), but if the goal keeper steps out of bounds, isn't it a corner kick? This also happens ALL THE TIME.

It doesn't matter if the player goes out of bounds, as long as the ball stays in bounds, he can go out of bounds.
