Fed-up Drogba eyes European move

Drogba's behaviour has threatened to overshadow his goalscoring
Chelsea's Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba says he wants to leave English football because he is fed up with the criticism he has received.

The 28-year-old, who cost £24m from Marseille in 2004, had to issue a retraction recently after admitting diving and scoring with his hand.

"I want to move on and avoid all the pressure and scandals. Those things hurt my feelings," he told the Sun.

"Anywhere I go, the Champions League will be there waiting for me."

Quite unbelievable. But good news for the league. If he can't understand why he is getting booed, even by a lot of Chelsea fans, then he needs a brain transplant.

Good riddance tbh.

I wonder if all these players wanting to leave chelsea will make players think twice about going there?

Chelsea of course dont need the money and could make him rot in the reserves (H)

What annoys me is the vote of confidence Mourinho publicly gave him only a few weeks ago. And instead of taking it in his stride, buckling up and getting his act together, like other EPL imports have done (VanNiss, Ronaldo, maybe Robben we'll see) his big head tells him "I'm leaving".

Anyway here's what Mourinho had to say in response:

"The situation is he has two more years of contract with Chelsea," he told Sky Sports News.

"He is one of the players we consider not negotiable.

"So he has no chance to leave. He has to play for Chelsea.

"If he plays with happiness, fantastic. We get the best of him.

"If he doesn't play with happiness, he doesn't play. So it's his problem."

£24m for that guy is an outrage. Chelsea are doing some wise moves on the market, and Drogba wanting to leave is only going to help their cause. He's not a bad player, in the matter of fact, it's his attitude and his price that make it seems so, but well, so long Didier, so long...

Now i'll have to swear only at Robben. (H)

Didier Drogba is a legend in Marseille. English opinions about him are just pitiful. Didier isn't a cheater or an idiot... But you can't understand this, and this is too bad for you.

I hope he'll be back here in Marseille, far away from EPL :ewan:

And thx Ch€l$ki for ya 35M€ :)

Even Chelsea fans have stong words to say about him.

Waste of £24m imo.

There are far better players out there that Chelsea can look at... maybe nows the chance to bring Tevez to the EPL :)

TOON ARMY

Starting XI
1) He openly admits to diving, "somtimes I dive, sometimes I stand."

2) He openly admits that handball is part of the game, "Yes, it was handball, but that's part of the game."

ULTRA SOUTH, if that's not evidence the man is a cheat i don't know what is.

You know, I'm so happy to learn that... it's confirming what I was saying, it's so pitiful. Or maybe Marseille fans are just "cons" or "fadas" (I think you can know that, I remember you from French forums) or we need a brain transplant. Anyways, I'm sure you're totaly wrong about him... He's a great player and a good man, maybe too honest for EPL.

Now I'm just hoping we can get him on loan for the next season, because he's still too expensive for "normal" clubs.

And good luck to him for World Cup with Ivory Coast, he's gonna suprise you :ewan:

So what? He dived 2 or 3 times, as anyelse professional player. He scored after lil' handballs. Is he the only player to do that? Drogba isn't the problem... What did referees do when Drogba did these gestures?
Without him, did Chelsea win 2 titles? Some goals, some assists. And his goal against Bayern in Champions League? All is forgotten because of dives and handballs?

Think what you want about him, but when I'm reading "he needs a brain transplant", even ironicaly, I guess you didn"t understand him. He's a great man, not an idiot or a cheater. Maradona is a cheater, and? He's still one of the best player ever!

Drogba did all he can for Chelsea and EPL fans. Very good reaction to thanks him (Y) He's just right leaving EPL. Now he's welcome in France to continue his brilliant career.

right, whishful thinking if ever I saw it. The facts are there to for all to be seen, so I'm too worried about the validity of my opinion. You should take your tinted specks off.

Anyway, I never really understand why he is such a legend at Marseille.. okay he got you to the final (where he bottled it big time) but as soon as some money was dangled in front of him he was off.

He's a legend. He scored more than 30 goals in 1 season with us, we waited 10 years to see a great player. Maybe he isn't the best one, but he was our leader. Here, fans love players who fight for their clubs, players like Papin, Waddle or Boli. "Mouiller le maillot", no?

I can't understand you didn't know that. In France, everybody knows Marseille is a particular context. 1 million of persons are always talking about one thing: l'OM! Drogba has never disappointed us, he was always present in difficult moments.

I don't know what is a legend for you, anyways, Drogba is like God here, in Marseille.

He's such an arrogant pig. Hope Chelsea sent him to rot somewhere.

Exactly, it's not so much the cheating that bothers me (although it still does) it's more that he has little respect for anything or anyone in the game. He just loves to be the centre of attention.

He will be milking it during the WC being captain of his nation and all that, and I expect to see a lot of his antics :nape:
