i think someone have the same problems as you

to increare your dribbling technique, best suggestion is get a ball and dribbling around. practice make perfect. i not a professional player, can't really teach you much.

i currently playing as center or right midfield. the problems for me now is lack of positioning and also confidence. sometimes i will feel nervous when i get the ball, don't know what to do at once. and also my positioning ain't good. not really know where i should position myself.

btw, hope someone can help us too :D

Re: drills for improving dribbling/ball handling?

lol odd question... Well, just pratice... get a few friends and play a game thats like this:

One is in the middle and the other round him and pass the ball to each other, while the middle guy trys to steal it. if he does it, then the last guy tounching the ball before the middle guy will go to the middle and the guy on the middle will go to is place...

also pass the ball from one foot to the other a ball, quickly.

Remember the ball is your friend... dont be afraid of it like some players do  lol

When u control the ball better, try to be creative and imaginative with ur skills. ITS GREAT!

and this summes lesson 1 lolol :crazyboy:

Kick onto a wall and try to control it and kick it back again right. Try doing juggels or go around certain objects in your house or on the street with your ball.

Hope that helps.:)

Does anyone else feel slightly embarrassed playing with a ball? The last time I've played for a team was back in 6th grade but I play every hour of the day. I don't go anywhere in the house without my ball. I try to go everyday to the basketball stand/tennis court where I have space to take some kicks against the tennis court fence. It's kind of fun as nobody ever uses the basketball court but kinda strange when people are playing tennis. Also, I can't resist juggling my ball or playing with it when I'm walking there, so people sort of look at me.

You should try getting a soft ball (I have one from like 2000) that is deflated and the camera is broken. Just dribble it around the house and do juggles with it. I can dribble and shoot really well...I'm really fast too...I just can't run very far :crazyboy:

I always dribble with the inside of the foot. I've heard other people say that the correct way is to dribble with the laces like you do when you shoot. I'm afraid that maybe it might have something to do with why I am so bad at dribbling. I hear juggling is what helps the most with touch.

yeah, juggling is THE way to improve your touch and ball control. just like taking free kick after free kick is the only reliable way to improve your shooting accuracy.
in general, always keep the 10000 hour rule in mind. Once I read about it, it made perfect sense. Go back and look at interviews from Rooney, C. Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, or any other top pro in the world. The story is the same: 4+ hours A DAY when they were growing up; it's all they did.
