Scanning the web I'm trying to find information for the 1871-72 FA Cup. I have a good starting point but I don't know who played in goal and who in defense. All formations are often in alphabetical order and the first indicates the captain (names in yellow). I'll probably never get my head around it but I'll try... Perhaps no one has ever attempted a detailed reconstruction of the tournament given the lack of data available... And so.. And so the asshole has arrived and is trying perhaps for the first time in 150 years. But why am I such an idiot....

That information was surely in the library of Alexandria xD

I got myself into bigger trouble than I was. This is the stuff of football historians with giant balls. Theoretically, a search of the newspapers and publications of the period would be necessary. I'm basing this on what little I can find on wikis, forums and a series of PDFs with information from 1860 to 1889. But it's all a mess. There is no system for understanding formations because it didn't exist. They tended to put the captain first and then the others in alphabetical order. There are games where a team played with 8 players. Players who played with multiple teams in the same period at the same time. With the little I have found so far I have made an acceptable draft of the 1871-72 Wanderers. Here now is a personal challenge that goes beyond the patch. The idea was to create the teams on a 5-year basis but I found the 1870-75 Old Etonians with 8 out of 11 players already present in other teams and this is not good at all.

Giggi, has anyone reported an error in Delle Alpi? I saw one of the goals (left one) has the net I created for this stadium (WC90). Now, I don't know if it's a 10.0 error or something related to the versions I have here (since I copied 10.0 over the last version rather than over a clean version of F14).

Another thing I noticed, some teams, like Liverpool, have their names in IDs or wrong (like Parma name appearing in 1860 Munich, I guess). Again, I think it's related to my files, but I want to be sure before doing everything all over again hahaha

I don’t have this problem

yes, I confirm, there is a double net in left side. I'll fix it for the next release. As for Liverpool and the others with incorrect names, I need to know what they are exactly so I can check language by language. :)

Depending on the stadium model, I don't know why, sometimes two nets models have to be created to be run without flaws in game. This was one of them. Sorry about that, I forgot to tell you!

About the names, I was playing 90s database, but I am pretty sure it was something wrong with my files. Now, I am re-installing everything (on a clean F14) and I will let you know. This way you don't have to spend time testing it. Thank you!

Edit: I didn't check it yet, but I think it was my fault indeed, since I opened the game in Portuguese (and now I should open it in English). Sorry to bother you with something you had already mentioned...

Portuguese is no longer supported by the patch. I had to cut out a lot of languages. Now only ENG, ITA, GER, FRA and ESP. Not ESP_MX

I would need the language used and then exactly which leagues the teams are in. Because Liverpool and others are also 10 teams per database...

I update you. I managed to reconstruct in an acceptable way (I'm happy with the patch) almost 8 teams from the 1871-72 FA Cup

Wanderers F.C
Royal Engineers
Crystal Palace
Queen's Park
Clapham Rovers
Barnes
Upton Park
Hitchin

I still have to understand something and complete here and there.

I don't know what I plan to do about the patch yet. Single season or try to merge and make the team for 5 years. If I were to often combine that I could reach at least 16 teams for the period 1870-75. The single season is fascinating but perhaps a single tournament with 16 teams is better in which to put the best and not waste player and team IDs. I also have to evaluate based on what I can find for the following seasons.

In the limbo of incomplete teams but with data (still the 1871-72 season) there are these that could be candidates to be part of the 16 that I would like to have

Maidenhead
Great Marlow
Hampstead Heathens
Civil Service

After having checked the 1872-73 FA Cup, if I merged the data I could insert it at the moment

1 Wanderers F.C
2 Royal Engineers
3 Crystal Palace
4 Queen's Park
5 Clapham Rovers
6 Barnes
7 Upton Park
8 Hitchin
9 Oxford University
10 Maidenhead
11
12
13
14
15
16

Windsor Home Park

Oxford (sure, they were champions) and Maidenhead are candidates for the top 16. Windsor Home Park has a chance. While Hitchin could exit at the moment.... The hope is to find data for Upton Park since he was the 1900 Olympic champion and therefore I would like to include him.
