Hey, my first post here. I really like this mod, thanks to you we can revisit classic football. Ofcourse, the project involves massive amount of work, not only on textures and database but especially on 3d models, which as we know are top priority. I hope that you will overcome issues with PC.
Althought the quality of the patch is incredible, I've noticed small inconsistencies with kits while looking through the files (it's not an accusation - as I wrote, there's lots of different work), i.e. in Hungary 1982 and 1986 kits. I am no experienced modder, but as I've already done some private textures work for various games, I thought that I could work on them - they were bugging me, and I thought it will be easy starters.
Please find my humble work in the attachement. As I wrote, 3d models with faces are the main focus, we know you are working hard on them with your team, that's why I thought I could support you in such a way. My work was mainly research and make edits on existing textures - I do not clam that I've done it completely from the scratch. I will be more than happy if it is any help for you, and you add these textures to next update. I could do similar stuff from time to time (still thinking about small tweaks on
Hungary 1982 - and couple of other kit textures)
Hungary 1986 reference photos:
Hungary 1986 kits:
Hungary 1986 Away:
- Adidas Trefoil red armband (as in the game with Canada)
Hungary 1986 Home:
- Hungarian colours incorporated within Adidas stripes (red-white-green) - shirt and socks had different pattern
- Adidas Trefoil white armband (both games with Soviet Union and France - it doesn't have text "Captain", because I couldn't find matching font)
Hungary 1986 GK:
- new GK shirts (yellow and green) Hungarian GKs played in both variants - yellow seems to be the choice for home games but green seems natural with green socks. ofc FIFA 14 likes one gk kit). What's important, GK shirts had different Trefoil logo, different placement in comparison to home/away kits.
- black GK shorts with red stripes and Adidas Trefoil logo (you can notice them on the photo from the match with Soviet Union)
- Hungarian colours incorporated within Adidas stripes (red-white-green) - socks matching home kit.
IMPORTANT: yellow GK shirt had black number, but green GK shirt had white number
West Germany 1990 Alternate Away:
I would treat this as a small easter egg - in 1991 Germany and England played a friendly match on Wembley. United Germany team played in extra rare green shirt, based on home kit. It's not exactly a historic World Cup kit, but many people don't even know such shirt existed and it's worth noting.
White numbers on back as regular 1988-90 german away kit.
I was also thinking about making England 1990 3rd unused kit.
PS: during my research I've found interesting Twitter account, the guy is posting archival football magazines with equipment. It may be handy while working on boots or gk gloves.
Take care!
