I have always liked the faces of really very old players, especially those from pre WWII. In the patch for fifa 10 I had a lot of them, mostly from the English league. Alex James, George Camsell. Ted Drake and Reich Carter to name a few. But it was another FIFA, with much more rudimentary face editing (.o files) and no animations. In one way or another something could be done. Now there is too much detail and if before the card of a football player from some cigarette company was enough, now you need many more photos to make sure that the texture does not look like a drawing ...
I, for one, have absolutely no problem with those players looking like drawings. It will be better than generic faces. And now that we don't have the pitches they played on, the type of kits they wore, the different rules and playing style they had etc., maybe a different style of face can make it feel like they belong to a different era.
