There is a very real danger that Cristiano Ronaldo will be voted the fans' best young player at the World Cup despite his pouting, diving, pretty boy antics designed mainly to get himself a lucrative transfer to Real Madrid and thus avoid the good kicking he deserves from Wayne Rooney at Manchester United training.

He is currently 1st in the FIFA voting just ahead of Luis Valencia of Ecuador. Please can everyone go to <http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/w/bypa/eligible.html> and do the decent thing by voting for Valencia. It doesn't matter who you support or if you haven't seen them play, just stop Ronaldo.

I love his playmaking abilities and his passion for the game.... He brings an awesome flare to a game. I wish he didn't hold on to the ball as much and he needs to mature because I am sure at times he lets his emotions get the best of him. Still a fantastic player and he should win it.

Lol Luis Valencia was way ahead of him last week. Letting the fans vote can't be that bad when Frank Lampard got voted the second best player in the world by coaches.

Are you sure that C.Ronaldo is 1-st and Valencia is 2-nd ? If so i'll vote for him, and if not than Podolski get's my vote.

So he had awesome form last year, but he's showing his true class now? :junior:

I think Podolski will win it however I do think Ronaldo deserves to be amongst the top 6. Out of the shortlist, I think only Podolski and Fabregas have any chance of beating him.
