I think its probably a little more political than that.

But the figures are the wrong way around. It is the Godfather who should be paying homage to the European Union. That is if Turkey want to be accepted as part of Europe that is. The banner is the reverse of reality. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Perhaps I'm reading the meaning in the wrong way. That would be just like me.:)

If you look carefully to photo you can see there is a European Union flag on the man who kisses big boss' (Galatasaray) hand. It means Galatasaray is the father of all teams in Europe

That's just dumb.

I think it's meant to represent the blue balls that the EU has been giving the Turks for the past 40 years by fellating them to the point where they think they can get in, only to pull out at the last moment.

I hate to talk politics in the football forum, but since you brought up the whole issue, i feel like its my right to comment on your respond.
Turkey is a giant nation with a population of nearly 80 million people and maybe 1/4 of that amount is living abroad. (such as myself, i live in Paris)

Our economic growth gets bigger and bigger everyday, everyday we have new investment news from a variety of nations.
Sad but true, military power is still an important tool in foreign diplomacy and Turkey has one of the strongest armed forces in the world, and its one of the major frontier of the "western" powers.

Now that we mentioned NATO, which nation do you think holds the eastern flank of NATO? Just back in 2004, NATO decided to "enhance" the Mediterranean Dialogue and offer cooperation to the broader Middle East region through the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative.

To conclude, Turkey was "worthy of being an ally" whenever the international community (majority consisted of european nations) needed military assistance in foreign operations in all around the globe, from Korea to Bosnia, Kosovo, Afganistan etc..

There are record amounts of laws that were passed in the last 6-7 years which were the terms and conditions of E.U, but with all the internal and external problems we are facing at the same time (Islamic and Kurdish terrorism at the same time) our reforms got slower, that is true.
But i believe my country had proven its intentions to its European friends a long time ago.

Turkey opened its arms for the European Union and its up to your Union to prove the boundries of religion will not come between us. Embrace us or i m afraid Turkey will travel at the roads that will lead her to islamic extremism and eventually, the end of secularism
(The end of Ataturk's revolutions, start of a possible Mullah regime)...

That's the original scene of this choreography in the "Godfather" movie ;)

Wow, no kidding? Usually you don't expect people to recognize a scene from such a popular movie.

And what ?
Also i heard that our supporters made this choreography because last year there was also an Uefa Cup match between Leverkusen-Beşiktaş in Germany and after Leverkusen scored goals, the announcer played EU anthem in the stadium as celebration song.

And what?

Just because they took a scene out of a popular movie it still doesn't justify the fact that the banner makes no sense, leaving it to be simply delusional Turkish thinking.

I think that we all know that Turkey has a big population, and we are also aware that Turkey has also given ground to the EEC to help it become a member of the EU. In particular the removal of the death sentence in Turkey is something I thought I would never see.

Now all your country has to do is give Cyprus back to the Cypriots. Hopefullythat isn't too far away, because until this issue is resolved, Turkey will be kept out of Europe in political terms.

By the way, using Islam to attempt to scare anyone is fruitless. We already co - exist very well alongside our Muslim communities. If there is an Islamic problem in Turkey then its up to you lot to sort it out.

Lets face it mate, Turkey need the EU more than the EU needs Turkey.:)

But you are right, this is not the time or place to discuss such depressing matters. Peace.

First of all i am a Fenerbahce fan and i dont like 6alatasaray, also i didnt enjoy that show objectively... But i have to say the fact that 6s supporters did not want to touch on the political issues by Carleone banner... It was representing totaly different thing...

If you watched the "Godfather" movie, you'd know that the things go worse for some lenght of time for Carleone Family. But then Carleones do well and become stronger again. Every body has to kiss big boss' hand at last.. (Sorry about my English but i hope i could make you sense)

6 alatasaray fans wanted to say that "this is a new beggining..maybe we were eleminated by Trömsö :) past years, maybe past years were bad for us... But we will get stronger again, we will be the big boss(i dont think so that they were big boss :) )again and many Europen Clubs will kiss our hands as they did in 2000"...

This is what i heard from my friends who are 6s supporters...
