well ive played FIFA since 12 erm that was world cup 98, though i've missed fifa 98, euro 2000, 6 months of 2002, fifa 2003 completely, and i only got fifa 2004 august of 2004.
Anyways I luv the whole series i think it's awesome.
fifa 2005 is, i think, a brushed up version of 2004. not a completely new reconstruction, but maybe like a new facelift.
the only thing i missed a tiny bit was how in the old days each version of fifa used to be drastically different to the one which followed. e.g. i remembered seeing ALL THOSE MAD NEW STADIUMS in FIFA 2000, and how the players had fingers instead of just fists( hmm or was that fifa 2001???! anyways...)
Nowadays the series seems to have slowed down a touch. E.g. the Stadiums being virtually the same and the 2004 players look like the 2005 ones. (oh but have u notice how in 2005 the players arms and hands are joined by the one color???? LUV IT!)but it's no big deal i luv the game still, heaps!
