I really like this game. I think it's great fun.

i dont bother bout patches, I've always played FIFA fresh.

My opinion is that playing FIFA is another way of enjoying the sport of soccer. So i dont care if the gameplay is "unrealistic" like some people call it. Or if the player database is limited.

It's a game! I love seeing and doing moves that i don't see in real life. It's an escape, if you like, from watching real soccer, which at times can be not what you want to see (too defensive, too much diving, not enough shots on goal etc).

I also love to transfer players around, make my own teams.

I dont mind if the boots aren't reallife replicas or the kits can be a bit different sometimes. Or if they have faces that dont look the same as reallife. Because I LIKE to see things abit different. Or else I'd watch TV.

I don't think it's a waste of money, and i dont think the game's expensive either. Not when you consider how many hours I've spent playing it, as opposed to those who never play and only complain bout it.

I'm not stickin up for EA sports either. I think they should make the best game to their ability. But now that it's made, let's just enjoy it

I love fifa 2005 alot, though I am disappointed that certain aspects of the game really need improvements, I am hoping EA will finally get it right in Fifa2k6

EA could have improved the feeling of football on stadiums...players warming up...cinematics with fans chanting etc

I love FIFA 2005, best so far from EA, if they fix the bugs from this year in next years game than I will be a happy person

i think you're the first person i've ever seen that doesn't care at alll about the game being realistic, well at least you enjoy the game.

Hi! I think...

...FIFA 2005 overall is a great game! I've tried the PES3 and 4 demos and considered converting to PES, but I always get back to FIFA. Better graphics, animations and gameplay IMO.

I've played FIFA since FIFA 97 and I think EA makes the game better every year - except FIFA 2000.

The only thing wrong with FIFA 2005, IMO, is the sad fact that the line RENDER_EVERY_AI_FRAME does not work... Very very big shame... And it's still a big mystery to me why EA f***** that up. Hope the line will be back in FIFA 2006.

Cheers :-)

Yes so i guess the general concensus is that the game is alrite, but like everything in life, we all wouldnt mind a bit more. So i think that's where the patchmakers come in. As for me, i'm happy and content as it is.

the thing is however, that there seems to be alot of people who are only dedicated to slamming the game and saying how it's a waste of money etc... they seem to be finding faults more than they are playing.

Fifa 2005 is a very good game. And you can see the improvements in gameplay, the more you get to grips with it.
The key factor being the First Touch system. Once you learn to master this, it makes the difference between playing an ordinary Fifa game to an improved one, imo. It just completely changes the fluency & flow of the gameplay.
I will admit that it did take me some time to master, and at first i thought the system ( and the whole game ) was really poor.
The game seemed sluggish, the player movement was too slow and you couldn,t really take a defender on, as such.

But i just stuck with it and suddenly it all clicked into place.
Resulting in some breath taking flowing, controlled passing moves, Twisting runs, fancy flicks n tricks, Cool lay offs & goal set ups.
It doesn,t work all of the time ... But it doesn,t always pay off in real life , either...
What some people don,t realise is that it,s all down to Timing and Space, and to a degree, your ability to look & think ahead..

Although PES does edge it in gameplay, and haves a better shooting system.
I will honestly say that when you are able to play Fifa05 at a certain level and able to combine the FT , Passing, Player runs, Thru balls , Skills and a bit of a footy brain.
That this game gives PES4 a run for it,s money ... Even with the Flaws in gameplay.

Now before you start blazing me... I will say that i have had numerous games of PES at all levels and against friends,
and i think it,s a great game and i can see why people rate it higher, but i also think that Fifa is a great game too.
To make things better, i,m happy to see that a number of the gameplay flaws have been put right in UCL.
EA still need to work on the game in areas, they also need to get some of the old Fifa elements back into the game too, such as the Ref & Officials , Substitutions and player / team editting, to name a few. The Career mode needs work also.

It would take one hell of a game to convert PES fans back to Fifa, but at least things seem to be looking better for us avid Fifa fans.
I am expecting major improvements in F 06 and i can,t see why it can,t happen, But it all boils down to EA,s commitment this year.
:)

I only started playing FIFA with the '03 incarnation. Of the 3 ive played, 2004 was far and away the best. I do like the career mode of 2005 though. Although, i havent played bad enough yet to warrant getting fired mid-season, so i dont know if that even happens.

I really hope 2006 finally will have the stadium builder inside the game.

Yeah, the career mode is good in Fifa05, i,m 1/2 way through my 3rd season at the moment.
And i still have Fifa04 myself. I actualy had a couple of games on it last week.
It,s still pretty good but 05 has much better control & gameplay, imo.
But i do reckon 04 has the better player graphics & goal celebrations. It also has the Ref and Linesmen too... :)
