Does any1 create own formation?

Wanted to know if anyone creates a formation that satisfies the type of game they play and if they do what it is?
I play a 4-4-2 w/ an OMF and DMF and the SMF playing a little more towards the center and one forward playing higher than the other.

Haven;t created my own since we4, when it was so easy to do headers. Okay I didn't really create it, I basicly took Germany's 3-4-3 formation for my ML team. 4 midfielders in a square btw.

Up until now I've used default ML formation because I love 3 defenders, but I think i'm gonna go for 4-4-2 with midfielders almost in a straight line, like England does. I love CHs now! :D

How did you get the German formation for your ML team? I have been trying to use the copy formation option to use Bayern Munichs formation for my ML team but every time I try loading Bayerns formation on the formation settings screen it doesnt change!! Finally I decided to just create that formation as best as I can and I think Ive almost got it. But it would still be nice if I could find out how to copy formations.

Heh, I had to do it myself as well, map out exactly how far from the edges the positions were. :crazyboy:

I created a custom 3-5-2, using one DH lined up more toward the center left of MF, a CH lined up up farther and futher left, a OH lined up slighty ahead of him and more on the right side of MF, a Left and right wingers, lined close to touch.. And In WE7 I angle them up and in for overlapping runs.

Yes, that's one of the best features of the whole series. In WE6 I used a 4-1-3-2 with my midfield in a "Y" formation. One DH and one CH lined up down the middle with two OH forming the arms of the "Y". This gave width in attack and strength down the middle where many clearances ended up and where the CPU liked to attack. Also made it easier to keep possession in the attacking end.

The best thing is that no one formation beats every team and you always have to adjust.

Absolutely agree, but I don't always do it. I've been playing 4-3-3 and I've stuck to it regardless of the team I'm playing because it's working for me -- I do usually tweak the attack/defense attitude settings, however, depending on my opponent (Don't know how much that really affects the game).

Question: when you say "adjust" to specific teams, do you play a different than usual formation altogether; adjust the positions of specific players; or use a different type of defense (zone v. marking etc.)

Depends on the situation. Usually, I stick with a basic formation (or one I create like the one I described) and may alter the offensive and defensive attitudes as necessary. For example, if playing a team with a 3 man defense I might have the wingers or OH stay wide, where otherwise I might angle them in to the box. If playing a team with a lone striker, I might pick a quick DF to man mark him. If the opponent has three forwards, I'll put a defense arrow on one of my SB's for extra support.

In some cases, though, I alter the formation completely. Usually that's if I have injuries or gray arrows to key players but sometimes if I have tried a particular formation against a team in the past and it never worked. I found it hard to play that 4-1-3-2 formation against teams with a 4-4-2 "box" formation because the two OH close together in the middle would be too much for my lone DH to handle, especially on a counterattack (Liverpool from WE6 is a good example).

I still have to experiment more with WE7 to see what's different about the formation logic but I like the new arrow system already.

For those who play with two strikers do you normally have one striker playing deeper than another? In ALL the COM formations one striker plays deeper than the other and that is normally the right striker. I have done the same thing and it has helped in getting someone on the ball when its in the opponents box.
