The problem isn't rushing into anything, it's the fact that 20 years is a ******* long time. Combine that with the fact that a lot of people hit their 15th or 20th anniversary right about the same time they go through a midlife crisis, and it's no wonder marrige ends in divorce.

And to be honest, people grow apart. The idea of marriage having to last forever doesn't really apply to modern times in my opinion. Look at your grandparents, a lot of them are absolutely miserable, but are still married because they feel they MUST stay together.

Yes I plan to get married, and I plan for it to last forever, but I realize that it might not, and that's fine. Also I find it incredibly hard to believe tht 50% of men cheat on their wives, I'd like to know where you got that statistic because I'm willing to bet it was a news article instead of scholarly study, which makes it worthless.

I saw a Stern interview on E where one of his former "girlfriends" said she couldn't imagine Hef banging them because he's such a huge gentleman, and that he still was incredibly in love with his ex-wife.

If I ever married I would make sure there was a clause in it so that if we ever got divorced, we retained possesion of our own assets and it wasnt all split between us - I wouldnt marry under any other conditions.
