Do Players Retire?

I finished my first season in Career Mode with the Chicago Fire and when I reviewed my roster I noticed that my 32 y/o captain, Chris Armas, was replaced with Kyle Waibel, a 19 y/o player who played the same position but had different ratings.

It makes sense because if they didn't retire players a guy like Armas would still be in the league at the age of 47 if you played the entire 15 years with the same club.

Yeah, players do retire. I'm Celtic manager and after my first season I got an email saying Neil Lennon has retired. The cool thing was that during my first game of the new season, the commentator actually said one of my best players retired.

Yes, I think the cpu gives you a player similar to the one that retired - at least that's how it worked for my team.

My old goalie who didn't fit the starting XI retired and I got a young, good goalie instead

How old was your goalie, i hope they considered that the keepers actually, retire when they're older than other players, around their 40's.

yeh I had Marco Delvecchio in my team and he retired after the season. What I found disturbing was the following season he retired and a new played, aged 18, named "M. Del Vecchio" was signed. Surely not a co-incidence. I don't like it.

I would suspect that if you build up your scouting coach the new players you get will be better than the old ones.

I never upgrade scouting coach. I just don't see the point. I buy players by my own selection.

wat age do the players retire? and do they retire if they lose their place in the top team and after a certain age? b/c it would be silly to have someone who's like 31 retiring.

Can players be injured so badly that they have to retire? (i.e. Paul McStay)
