Different shooting/crossing/passing styles

I think its one of the most important aspects of the game.

Henry and Ronaldo mainly shoot low, R. Carlos shoots with power, Beckham curls it, Ruud and Raul shoot high, Rivaldo and Heitinga shoot with the outer part of their foot, etc...

The same with crossing and passing, not all players cross with the same style...

That would be a good feature. I know in the NHL seriers they have a preferred shot between wrist shot, slap shot, and backhand, they should do something like that for FIFA.

Yeah thats all they need to have... A prefered shooting stat, but we wouldnt want to give EA to many complicating ideas for there little minds......

very true. I hope EA add these styles in or allow the player to shoot like that, so you have the choice!

1. nobody shoots corner with there outer foot!!!
2. it looks so bad when i shoot and the player curls the ball with the right inner foot and the ball makes a curfe to the left side!!
i have often seen that! this are big bugs

Definately have the right idea there, but i wouldnt make it so that henry and ronaldo can only kick the ball a certain height, it is more in the technique they use.

EA need to study different techniques of different players

-running styles
-shooting
-dribble styles
-passing technique
-Jumping technique

even the first touch, some people control with the inside ( pires) some people slighly on the toe (henry)

they also need better position descriptions. Even though two players may be left back, they could still play totally different. One could be Roberto Carlos who comes up with the attack a lot or they could just stay back.

freekick style are another main question for them. since all player in FIFA 2004 and EURO 2004 are all have same freekick style. this is not happening in real world.

this few example are different players using different style taking freekick in real life. in addition, hope EA understand whats the different between direct freekick and indirect freekick. in FIFA 2004 and EURO 2004, set pieces system are so bad. we been asking to take indirect freekick as direct freekick, taking shot in some impossible angle or weird place. i hope EA can make it more random, more flexible so that we can choose to make it direct or indirect. the random and flexible i mean is take off the 1,2,3 selection. it make me furious because only have 3 players are able to receive ball in the penalty box? this is impossible

for corner. i hope EA can make it better. same as indirect freekick. there are impossible only have 3 players receive the ball in penalty box. as a corner taker, we not only send the ball into penalty box, its able to shot pass, or curve outside to allow volley from outside the penalty box. this going to be more interesting.

hope EA concern this and make it in FIFA 2005. various style to taking freekick will make the game more interesting. more random and flexible set pieces system can make us more enjoy set pieces. score a beautiful goal from set pieces is one of the most enjoyable thing in football!!!!!!!!

I like some of the ideas here, but I think the kind of specialization you guys are talking about is just too complicated. I think the best we could hope for is something like "special moves," for example, you hit a certain combination and Zlatan Ibrahimovich would do that little leaping flick thing he scored with against Italy.

meh, set pieces is vital and it adds sooo much to the game when you have different players controll the ball in their own style. That would be a real simulation.

I totally agree. The 3 players thing was quite unrealistic, in real matches sometimes you get to see 10 players going into the box(yeah not very common but happens, at least 7). And i got some of the strangest angels on directs Free kicks. You should be able to choose in ALL the cases if you want it to be indirect.

I also didn't like how incredibly obvious it was which kind of kick you were going to take. I mean shouldn't there be some method so that you get to pick who takes the free kick, whether or not there will be any fakes, and shouldn't your opponent not know if you're going to lob it in or shoot on goal? Granted, to do this would take a long time as you'd have to choose from among 2 or 3 players if you want to do a fake, you have to decide if it's a lob or shot on goal, and then choose spin and power and also a receiver (so your opponent doesn't know what's going on). But it could lead to some satisfying plays, if the other guy has to decide how to play the keeper and such.

Yeah, every player do the same animations. Nobody feels unique. I think PES have idividual animations for Zidane, Henry ect and it looks really good. I want to recognzie the star players, not only by the shirt number you know .. I think they should have like 5-6 guys doing the same animations in motion-cap and then fit a suitable running animation, for instance, for a suitable player. I mean, A 38 year old english 3rd division player do not have the same running pattern as thierry henry.

I would love to see EA make this feature so different players have different styles,,, like C. ROnaldo is a good dribbler u should be able to do all those moves he does in the game

in fifa 2003 i'm certain nakata and becks had unique freekick styles either way everything in this thread rings so true. better animations for missing a shot or something
