Ukraine had a very good team had a very good team and people wrote that off and still write them off. They will do well at the world cup if people think of them like that, just like they did with Greece, Turkey and Denmark.

I think group 1, 2 and maybe 4 were probably the most evenly matched and probably the toughest.

Well that's exactly my point, the seeding of the teams is designed to make sure that Italy, Spain, England, and France always make it to the major competitions. Italy and Spain are bad teams. They didn't even make it out of the group stages of EURO. England and France didn't make it past the quarterfinals. Why do they deserve seeding? They don't. They are seeded so that they will have easy roads to qualification, because UEFA and FIFA only care about the biggest clubs and national teams. Denmark, Ukraine, Turkey, and Greece are all as good, if not better, than the teams who were seeded. Denmark beat France in the WC and crushed England 4-1, and beat them 3-2 before that. They also drew Italy in the EURO. Greece are the champs of Europe and beat France. So what's the deal?

Let me remind you that Turkey was the 3rd in WC 2002, and Brazil barely beat Turkey in the semi finals.And Denmark did great in Euro 2004..so what the hell are you talking about?

Uh, Denmark DID beat Greece about four days ago, where have you been? You're just lucky you're hosting the tournament otherwise you wouldn't be in it considering you just lost to Turkey and only finished one point above LATVIA in the EUROs.

Yes, the seeding is based on qualifying results, which is why it is so crooked. Think of it like this. England was given an extremely easy qualifying group. They won it (barely) so they go to the World Cup. When it comes time for EURO 2008, they will be seeded again based on winning their (easy) WC qualifying group, so they will get another easy group, which they will again win, ensuring they are seeded for WC 2010, etc. Thus England will always be guaranteed a place in these tournaments. Hardly seems fair, I don't think.
