When Carter was President, the Iranian government was overthrown by religious fanatics. Obviously you know that. Iran is and has been a "state sponsor" of terrorism for decades. They actively support Hezbollah... say what you will, but they are terrorists. Iraq was also a state sponsor of terrorism.
Yeah, I wish Carter would've been tougher on the mullahs, but it wasn't smart of us in to support Pahlavi in the first place. But that's besides point. Iraq supported what terrorist group? The secular group headed by a woman who wants to overthrow the current Iranian regime.

Wow, Kennedy pleaded guilty for leaving the scene of an accident... he had a dead woman he could have saved in his car when he fled!!!
He wasn't charged by the local DA with anything besides leaving the scene of an accident, though so what's your point? He didn't actually kill someone (unless proved otherwise.)

Wow, outside of dictatorships, the US must be the only place where military service actually counts in politics. Says a lot about the place really.

Oh, and abortion. There is alot in common with some rather unsavoury regimes really. People here, in Aussie and the Uk gave up caring about abortion as an 'issue' yonks ago. Talk about behind the times.

Iraq supported Palestinian terrorists...

Here is a website you should really read. Go to the timeline of the Kennedy thing.

He was drunk, drove off of a bridge, left the scene, someone died. If that were anyone else besides him or some other local hero, they would be in jail.

Well, they're boasting Kerry's because republicans are the ones that are normally wild about the military, and their man can't boast his.

Wow. Edwards  :rockman: He came out to the right of Bush on Iraq/foreign policy and did not say a single bad thing about Bush/Cheney. He basically didn't say anything negative, he was so optimistic and upbeat. Not the greatest speech of all time, but when you're Edwards your charisma does half the job.

"Hope is on the way." (H)

Yeah, I am.

Good Speech so far. (Y)

He started out with, "Hello, I am John Kerry, and I am reporting for duty."

Does it get any cornier ?

pretty cheesy for the most part, for those of us that see him as not so different from Bush, didn't do much distancing

nader is the only true alternative

The speech is decent but it doesn't make you go "Oh snap!" It's actually complicated, confusing and too long. He's sweating like crazy too...

For the record, this speech is aimed at the Democrats/swing voters, it's not meant to be cool and hip, if you know what I'm saying. For that, we have Jon Stewart. (H)
