Dario Silva fighting for his life after car crash

Moments like these make one realize how easily the world can change in the blink of an eye.

My heart goes out to him and his family, get well, Dario.

I feel terrible for Dario Silva. I thought his noodle hair was funny as hell in the 2002 WC and that's what I remember him for mainly.

I don't wanna be around when he's told he can't play football again :(

With all due respect, his career was over already. I think when he wakes up he'll be thinking about more important things like that he's still alive, or that he has to live with one leg, or that he has a fractured skull. This news is kind of surreal for me as he was just on the team two years ago. I hope his recovery goes as well as possible.

not really, he just took a few months to relax, he always said that he wants to retire at penarol (uruguayan team), he was offered to go to Nacional, but refused because he didn't want to anger fans of penarol by going to the rival team, i can tell you for sure his carrer was not over (i even think he almost went to river plate in argentina).

(Put this on another board guys) <To Sevilla ppl at the end>
________________________________________________

Doctors said that he's "semi concious" but that he believes that Dario knows about the Leg being gone (he said "I can imagine he knows")

Also all the players he ever played with from: England/Spain and the Uruguayan NT players all sent their concerns for him (Forlan/Recoba/Chenge/ and Lopez especially)

--- For tomorow's Friendly in Venezuela: URuguay will come out with a "Get well Dario" flag
----and for Thursday's Mega Blockbuster game vs. Boca Juniors, : Nacional will all come out with shirts and flags for Dario (and Fans are currently making him a big flag out of tribute for him)

thanks for all the ppl posting here guys...........I'm sure he's not been a player who's been a world hero or anything. But I know that he's given many Sevilla fans and Uruguayans 100% of his efforts ("balls over talent") in games where he was even desperately injured.

(Plus also some funny <now> moments : IE: The miss vs. Brazil in 2004 :p ........... Get well Dario!

(((For me and all the Uruguayans , many of who'm one of the happiest moments of their lives <Certainly mine> was when he pushed off that Aussie defender that was like 2-3 meters taller than him to score the first goal that allowed us to qualify to the WC...........................<playing INJURED too> ..............just made him a hero right there))) <<<<Just the most basic example of classic River Plate (Arg/Uru) Balls/heart....>>>

- Also being a dedicated father and husband............I hope the best for his family (His mom seemed Incredible calm and cool for what had just happened to Dario)

well i hope he is well, but to be honest he is 34 he isnt going to like having only one leg but it wont hurt him as much as if he was 25 or something.

atleast now he has his family, so he has all the time in the world to spend it with them.

I hope u get well soon dario.

That's not the case. Football is taken away from him. Of course as a pro he got insurance big enough to cover him, but if there's something that money can't buy is that fun and passion of playing football.

We all share the same passion with the game here, of course each and everyone of us can imagine the pain if we find out that we can no longer play football.

Sh*t man, how good is money if you don't have a leg??

I'm sure he'd traded it all for this not having to happen.. The last thing he's thinking about is football..

My condolances to him and his family, I don't want to imagine how they must be feeling in this situation..
